SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO KICK-IN DOORS of residences have been reported in the area of Isle Avenue and King Avenue, this evening. Two suspects may be roaming the area on bicycles.

UPDATE: Soon after the incidents on Saturday evening, WPD officers stopped three juveniles who were riding bicycles in the area, and who had been identified as possibly being the perpetrators, but they soon released them after determining that they were not the ones responsible.

A public hearing on funding the construction of Sunset Park is being held on Monday, April 25 at 7pm in Council Chambers. The City of Waynesboro received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and it is being proposed a portion of those funds be used to construct the park. Preliminary design and engineering are nearly complete. Information about the park can be found at https://www.waynesboro.va.us/973/Sunset-Park

Additionally, the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition secured funds to design mountain bike trails at Sunset Park. They are hosting an information session at Basic City Beer Co. on April 21 from 4:30pm to 6pm. Stop in and find out more about this project.
