In Frankfurt today, the financial center of Germany, and home of the Euro Currency!
Also a great mixture of old buildings (rebuilt after WWII), and modern skyscrapers.
Also had the opportunity at a wursthaus to try a real "frankfurter"... looked like an Anerican hot dog, but all pork with "natural" casing, so a hard pass!

NCLH (Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings) unveils the most comprehensive new build order in its history—a total of eight vessels, representing nearly 25,000 additional berths, with new classes of ships for each of its three brands—and the construction of a multi-ship pier at Great Stirrup Cay, the company's private island destination in the Bahamas and its top-rated Caribbean port of call.

· The new ship orders across all three brands are scheduled for delivery over a ten-year period, between 2026 and 2036.

· Following the delivery of four Prima-Plus class ships from 2025 through 2028, Norwegian Cruise Line is expected to take delivery of four approximately 200,000-gross-ton ships, each with a capacity of nearly 5,000 guests, in 2030, 2032, 2034 and 2036, which are subject to financing.

· Building on the success of its Allura Class ships, the last one being delivered in 2025, Oceania Cruises is scheduled to take delivery of two 86,000-gross-ton ships, each with a capacity of 1,450 guests in 2027 and 2029. Lastly, following the award-winning Explorer Class ships, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is scheduled to take delivery of two 77,000-gross-ton ships, each with a capacity of 850 guests, in 2026 and 2029.

· The Company has obtained export credit financing with favorable terms to fund 80 percent of the contract price of each of the two Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises ships, subject to certain conditions. The ship orders for Norwegian Cruise Line remain subject to financing, currently underway.

MIAMI, FL, January 24, 2024: Oceania Cruises, the world’s leading culinary- and destination-focused cruise line, is joining forces with Food & Wine to host an Editor’s Cruise featuring Food & Wine’s editor in chief, Hunter Lewis, on board its newly reimagined, 1,250-guest ship Riviera. The exclusive cruise is a can’t-miss opportunity for food and drink lovers and will feature a culinary demonstration hosted by Lewis, Oceania Cruises’ signature gala brunch, an exclusive Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve and more. Additional special guests on board include J’nai Gaither, a Champagne, wine and food writer extraordinaire, and Alex Prud’homme, a celebrated culinary author and the great-nephew of Julia Child.

The Food & Wine Editor’s Cruise departs on September 11, 2024, from Barcelona and explores epicurean hotspots across the Mediterranean, including Saint-Tropez, Rome (Civitavecchia), and Naples, and ends on September 21, 2024, in Athens (Piraeus), Greece.

Shipboard guest highlights are set to include two destination-focused Chef’s Market Dinners which will feature locally inspired dishes made with ingredients selected from markets in the port of the day, a special themed afternoon tea in Horizons, and Oceania Cruises’ famed gala brunch, usually reserved only for ship launches.

Additional experiences available for guests to book include the decadent Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, which sees a different vintage of the renowned Champagne served with each delicious course, special wine tasting events, and bespoke culinary-focused shore excursions.

As the culinary leader in the cruise industry, Oceania Cruises has consistently elevated and innovated in the food and beverage space. The brand’s culinary team is truly the finest at sea, being the only team in the industry helmed by two Master Chefs of France: Alexis Quaretti, Senior Culinary Director, and Eric Barale, Vice President of Culinary.

“Oceania Cruises is a cruise line built by foodies, run by foodies, for foodies, so the collaboration with Food & Wine is a natural one,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “Both brands are powerhouses in the culinary space and cater to the most discerning clientele. Oceania Cruises has been dedicated to serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea for the past 20 years, so we are thrilled to be joining forces with the incredible team at Food & Wine.”

Hunter Lewis, editor in chief of Food & Wine, said: “I’m looking forward to joining the standout team of Oceania Cruises’ chefs and sommeliers for this special Editor’s Cruise experience. This is a one-of-a-kind way to share in Oceania Cruises’ commitment to culinary excellence and bring Food & Wine to life on board for the guests.”

WE'RE YOUR VIKING CONNECTION FOR RIVER, OCEAN, AND EXPEDITION CRUISES!
Viking recently announced an expansion of its river fleet in Southeast Asia with the new Viking Tonle. Designed for the Mekong River, the 80-guest vessel will join its identical sister ship, the Viking Saigon (which debuted in 2022) and will sail between Kampong Cham, Cambodia and Mỹ Tho, Vietnam as part of Viking’s 15-day Magnificent Mekong itinerary. The ship is under construction and is currently scheduled to debut in October 2025.

With strong demand on the Nile River, Viking will add two more sister ships, Viking Hathor and Viking Sobek, which will be delivered in 2024 and 2025, respectively. By 2025, Viking will have six ships on the Nile, offering the largest and most elegant fleet, by far.

In 2025, Viking will also welcome a new Viking Longship on the Seine River. This identical sister ship will join the current fleet of four Viking Longships sailing the river, docking in Viking’s exclusive location in the heart of Paris, near the Eiffel Tower.

For ocean voyages, beginning in 2024 Viking will introduce the Iconic Iceland, Greenland & Canada itinerary. This 15-day voyage will immerse guests in striking natural beauty and volcanic landscapes, while delving into the rich history of Viking exploration, allowing for leisurely strolls through the charming streets in ports of call.

A new Malta, Morocco & the Mediterranean itinerary will make its inaugural voyage in late 2024. The roundtrip journey from Barcelona spans seven countries in 16 days, featuring visits to UNESCO-designated sites, North African cities, the Alhambra palace and other scenic wonders. Viking also is set to unveil the Viking World Voyage I in 2025. The 180-day adventure traverses the globe, encompassing 37 countries on an unforgettable voyage across six continents.

Also setting sail in 2025, Viking will embark on a new adventure with the Grand Australia Circumnavigation itinerary. The 32-day sailing takes guests on a voyage around Australia, offering the chance to uncover a harmonious blend of iconic natural wonders, lesser-known cultural gems, and such captivating destinations Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne. The itinerary includes exploration of Indonesian treasures Komodo and Bali. Finally, in late 2024 Viking will welcome a new sister ship to the Ocean fleet, the Viking Vela.

On the expedition cruise front, In 2023 Viking launched the new intercontinental Longitudinal World Cruise collection, with expedition ships sailing between Antarctica and the Great Lakes. On these epic voyages, guests will achieve more travel milestones in a single journey than most people accomplish in a lifetime—from the heart of North America through engineering marvels like the Welland and Panama Canals into the Chilean fjords and finally to Antarctica. Upcoming new 2024-2025 itineraries include the Longitudinal World Cruise IV and Longitudinal World Cruise V.

Viking also has announced three new summer season expedition voyages in the Arctic set to debut in July 2025. The new itineraries range from 13 to 27 days and explore the polar north in Canada and Greenland. More specific itinerary information is available online featuring the Northwest Passage, Canada & Greenland Explorer and Canada & the Northwest Passage.

More recently, Viking announced another wave of new itineraries in Antarctica for the 2025 season. The new 87-day From the Arctic to Antarctica itinerary will expand offerings to the “White Continent,” sailing from Nuuk, Greenland to Ushuaia, Argentina.
