KASTENBOLE at Whitecap Mountain is getting ready for winter. Jeffrey and Jeffro are taking LABOR DAY seriously by putting new shingles on the sauna haus. We look forward to hearing updates from Whitecap soon!

POTATO RIVER FALLS view from the Lower observation deck. 208 steps to get down there but it’s broken up with some flat terrain. Once down you can fish, swim, sunbath, anything your heart desires❤️. Just south of Gurney on 169…. Less than 30 minutes from Kastenbole.

Winter is not calling it quits in Northern Iron County! We received a nice snow squall early this morning and it gave our groomers more to play with. Come on up and enjoy this beauty we call home. Don't stop short of God's Country!

We love the spirit of adventure our New Years guests, Addy and Colby have! They had quite a hike up what our survey plot calls the “rock knob”. KASTENBOLE is at the highest point in the village. Good job Addy and Colby!!!

KASTENBOLE also has snowshoes for our guests to use, trails are wherever you want to explore!

Miners Trail is groomed and tracked. Conditions are great!

Another fun thing to do in the great Iron/Gogebic counties.

The ice oval in the downtown Ironwood City Square will be open for the first time tomorrow afternoon for First Friday! The oval will be open daily to the public as long as ice is able to be maintained. Have fun!

Just a few more days until a magical candlelight ski and snowshoe at Copper Falls State Park! Our friends group has been busy making ice lanterns for the event. If you love the event and want to support future events and winter trail work that our members do, consider adopting an ice lantern by making a small $5 donation and take one home with you! We hope to see you around the bonfire and on the trails on Saturday, February 5th!

Jeff always says the perfect Kastenbole guest is resilient, resourceful and passionate about Whitecap. We love that when mountain conditions weren’t great our post Christmas guests took the snowshoes from the garage and hiked up to Corrigans Lookout just north on 122. . We have the best guests at Kastenbole!!!

A surprise guest today at Kastenbole! An ermine visited our new egress windows! We learned from friend Jimmy that local folk legend says “an ermine in your woodpile is a sign of good luck”.

We look forward to a great year at Kastenbole and Whitcap Mountains!! Thanks little ermine for the blessing of good luck😊
