Saturday was our last wedding of the season, and what a magical evening to end our event season!

The wedding was held at the bride family home, and it was nothing short of a spectacular display of family love.

It was such a pleasure to work with the bride and family, and the bride, who is a chef, gave us full reign on the menu!

The evening involved two separate grazing areas! One, outside, was for pre-ceremony grazing with heavy appetizers. After the ceremony, the inside grazing area was opened, and the bridal party, family, and guests enjoyed all night dancing and grazing❤️

It was also a pleasure to work with photographers from Kandalyn & Tony Green Photography! Such fun photographers who captured all the magic!

The Farmer side of things was responsible for the two set ups, to showcase our culinary creations!

As always, I stressed over the menu, the food, and the presentation 😁

Thank you, to the Lynch family and extended family, for trusting us on your magical evening.

Local meats all from the Farmer at Oakview Farm Meats

Breads from the Hippie's Cosmic Charlie Bread Adventures

All herbs are grown in the culinary boxes at our own venue!

Potatoes for the Steakhouse Bites came from Oberly Brothers Farms, one of our vendors from the market at Champaign Locally Grown

Tomatoes on the Burrata Board were from JC Growers, also vendors on the market at Champaign Locally Grown

Entering another week of wedding prep for our last wedding of the 2024 season!

We have already started to book for 2025! Both onsite, at our own venue, and off site, at a venue that you have booked!

June 2025 is already filled!

Remember that we consider ourselves Boutique Caterers, taking only a handful of clients, a season, and building the grazing menu, curated to that client!

Saturday evening was the perfect evening for a wedding at our own venue!

The skies were clear, and love was all around.

The bride is not only my niece, but she has also been a part of our catering staff, over the years. She picked an eclectic theme of disco balls, retro fun, and loads of dancing and cocktails 🍸

The menu was all night grazing, which is our preferred style, with light bites, heavy main dishes, hot and cold. We worked with some of our favorite vendors to make the whole evening a smashing fun success✌🏻

As always the meats on the menu all came from Oakview Farm Meats!

Breads from Cosmic Charlie Bread Adventures!

Wedding florals were from Bell’s Flowers!

Wildflowers in the courtyard and herbs are our own at the venue!

The bartenders are our favorites, and I'm always happy if we cater, and they are the two bartenders❤️

The menu, as you know, brags local, and we used produce from JC Growers, and peaches from Champaign Berry Farm! All can be ordered from our online market, Champaign Locally Grown!

For the cocktail hour, we placed retro takeout containers at each place setting of fun party snacks, before the grazing evening began!

The hanging bamboo lights were from our friends at Ambience!

My only sadness is that I did not get a full length photo of the grazing salad....it was an epic scene😁

The cute retro cake was from urbanbakerycba

Sparkly disco cupcakes were from Cupcake Creations

The music was from their family friend, and his sound system kept everyone on the dance floor, all night long🎶🎶🎶

As we journey into the summer of events and weddings, this is a reminder that we are booking, now, for 2025!!

We are now totally booked out for June of 2025, so don't hesitate to reach out, before we book the rest of the months for the season of 2025!

We have our own venue site that is open from June-September, or we cater, off site, all year, except for our winter shut down!!

Culinary creativeness is what we are all about!!

Friday night was the annual kick off event, for the season, at the venue!

This event is always a special one benefiting The American Cancer Society, and hosted by The Road Fish Bicycle group in conjunction with the Pan Ohio Hope Ride!

The night was magical, the crowds were huge, and everyone enjoyed a perfect evening on the farm.

These photos show the food, desserts, flowers, newly decorated greenhouse, and bathrooms.

Events under the tent, are always so fun, and we are booking weddings and other events for Summer of 2025.

Sadly, I got super busy, and didn't get crowd shots or twilight shots to see everything in lights.

Tent decor and table decor is always on point from Ambience

Greenhouse florals are from Bell’s Flowers

Cocktails/Bartending from Wine Works of Springfield.

Meats are all from Oakview Farm Meats

Breads and desserts from Cosmic Charlie Bread Adventures

Food and venue are Hippie and the Farmer.

Saturday was our first event of the season after our annual winter hiatus!

The event was a Farmers' Market themed baby shower, held at The Warehouse Event Center in Troy.

It was such a fun theme to capture and curate!

The Hummingbird cakes, mini fruit tarts, waffles and pastry bread sticks were all from the Hippie side of things from Cosmic Charlie Bread Adventures!

The caramelized bacon bites, savory sausage bites, and shaved ham were all from the Farmer side of things from Oakview Farm Meats!

While we just announced our new concept in catering, in the previous post, the other thing that we are promoting is our on site event venue at the farm!!!

It's always a beautiful backdrop for weddings, parties, Pizza Farm Fridays, and showers! No event is too big for the grounds, and you get the freedom to create and curate the backdrop to your event, to suit our own personal taste!

It's also the perfect backdrop, to feature our new grazing areas/appetizer station set up!! There is a dj/band area, and dance area, bar area, the greenhouse, lovely white tent/tents for the full outdoor beauty of the surrounding fields, wildflower areas, tables with two different choices in seating, beautiful new restrooms, and....our food!!

All of the elements of a great party/event!!

Call for more information/pricing/booking!!

Cheers to 2024, and cheers to you, our clients, past, present and future!! And, a HUGE thank you, to everyone, who has been a client, over the years, and helping to make this catering business so much more than just catering!!

Because of you, we have been able to curate, create, build, and move beyond what normal catering brings! And, because the fun is in the creative process, and the designing of our elaborate appetizer stations, grazing areas, and over the top charcuterie boards, this is the new direction we will not be focusing on, and offering to you!!

In 2024 we become your Curators Of Artistic Grazing!!!!

We are moving away from buffet style lines, we are moving away from table served dinners, and we are focusing on what is the most fun, and where we excel!!

Life is a party, and so is your event!! So, moving forward, we will be offering appetizer stations and grazing areas offering hot, and chilled, heavy, and light loveliness. Our grazing areas always take on a life of their own, and by the time guests are finished enjoying them, they feel like they have already had dinner, so why not just dine, all evening long, and keep the fun going, instead of stopping for a dinner line?

Quite a few of our past clients went in this direction, and finally, the lightbulb moment happened of....let's just offer elaborate grazing areas!!

This is a bit unconventional, but it's the most fun, and the creative process is endless!!

We have already started booking for next summer, and beyond, so if you would like to book a date, feel free to contact us!!

Life is too short, for boring parties....

Last night ended the 2023 calendar of events for Hippie and the Farmer!

The venue was Indian Creek Distillery, for a private party, for one of their own family members, and, as always, the distillery makes for such a beautiful backdrop.

Last night the food was featured in their whiskey making area, while the upstairs was alive with music, spirits, and laughter!

2024 is upon us, and we are looking forward to announcing a change in our catering, to make it even more curated, and over the top!

While the books are closed for 2023, we are booking for 2024, but as you know, we take on only a select number of catered events, our books fill up, fast, and we have our own venue that hosts events, on site!

So, believe me when I say, getting on the books, sooner, rather than later, ensures that you will get food artistry at your event✌🏻

Breads from Cosmic Charlie Bread Adventures!

Caramelized pork medallions, white wine sausage bites, and smoky bacon bites are all from Oakview Farm Meats!

Roasted Garlic in the baked Feta is from JC Growers!

The beautiful florals are from Bell’s Flowers!

And, as always, the beautiful venue that is Indian Creek Distillery!
