Ready for a Day of Hiking? Check out our sister Island - St. John. A quick 20 minute ferry ride away - you can take the people ferry or take the car barge!

Some popular hiking spots on St. John in the US Virgin Islands include:

Reef Bay Trail: a challenging hike with stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and the rainforest. Danish sugar plantation ruins, stone walls from cattle grazing, and ancient rock carvings left behind by the pre-Colombian Taino can be found along the trail. During rainy season the waterfall can be spectacular.

Cinnamon Bay Nature Trail: a short, easy hike through a lush tropical forest. Cinnamon Bay Plantation was established in 1717 and was one of the earliest and most prosperous sugar plantations on the Island. In 1903, the Danish West India Plantation Company bought Cinnamon Bay and began growing bay rum trees to produce bay leaf oil, which was used in popular colognes and lotions known as St. John Bay Rum.

Ram Head Trail: a strenuous hike that offers panoramic views of the southern coast of St. John.

Mary Point Nature Trail/Francis Bay Trail: a moderate hike through the lush tropical forest to a beautiful beach. Francis Bay Trail starts at the Francis Bay Sugar Factory. It continues past the Mary's Point Estate house and around a salt pond. The dry tropical forest and salt pond provide an excellent opportunity to view birds. The lower portion of the trail is an accessible boardwalk that continues through the mangroves to the two viewing platforms.

All of these trails offer unique and stunning views of the island's natural beauty, making St. John a great destination for hiking enthusiasts.

Are you visiting us here in the Virgin Islands? Here are a few things to do while you are here:

Visit Magens Bay: This is a stunning beach with crystal-clear water and powdery sand. It's perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the natural beauty of the island. Megans Bay also has SUP and Kayak Rentals and beach chair rentals. There's a cute little boutique to buy a new bathing suit or a T-Shirt and a great bar to enjoy the views while sipping on a cocktail! Grab a slice or a whole pizza or burgers at the beach cafeteria!

Take the ferry to St. John: Just a short ferry ride away, St. John is known for its natural beauty and national parks, and has some of the best snorkeling and hiking opportunities in the US Virgin Islands. Snorkel with Turtles at Maho, Climb Ram's Head at Salt Pond Bay (and snorkel with turtles at Salt Pond too). Visit Trunk Bay for the underwater snorkel trail!

Go shopping in Charlotte Amalie: The capital of St. Thomas, Charlotte Amalie is known for its duty-free shopping. You can find everything from jewelry and watches to local crafts, souvenirs and liquor - and it's all tax free!

Tour Blackbeard's Castle: This historic site is a tower built in the late 1600s and rumored to have been used by the infamous pirate Blackbeard as a lookout point. It offers fantastic views of the island and the Caribbean Sea.

Explore the 99 Steps: This is a historic stairway made of brick and stone that connects the town of Charlotte Amalie with Government Hill. It's a great way to get some exercise while enjoying the historic architecture of the island.

Visit the St. Thomas Synagogue: This is the second-oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere and has been in continuous use since it was built in 1833. It's a fascinating and beautiful place to visit.

Take a sunset sail: There are many companies that offer sunset sailing tours on St. Thomas. This is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean Sea and watch the sunset over the water. Ask us for our recommendations!

Visit the Paradise Point Skyride: This aerial tram takes you up 700 feet above sea level to enjoy panoramic views of the island and the sea. Open on cruise ship days only.

Charter a boat! Go on a snorkeling excursion and enjoy our beautiful waters, feeling the wind in your hair!

Snorkel or learn to scuba - Some of the best snorkeling spots are right off the beach: Secret Harbour (Aqua Action Dive Center) Coki Beach (Coki Dive Center). Snorkel right off the beach at Coki or Secret Harbour or try out a discovery dive!
