Most of you know me as a writer and editor (if you know me!) But a few years ago, after spending a decade in and out of Africa to research a novel, I started a safari business: www.cowgirlsandpirates.com
Now that Covid is on the wane, we are revving up again.
I take an un-touristy approach, modernizing the safari concept. Yes, great tented camps, lions, elephants, cheetahs, the lot. But I also set up art tours in Nairobi (vibrant art scene!), remote desert trips in Namibia with an outfit started by prize-winning conservationists, visits with elephant researchers, a film festival in Zanzibar. Africa is more than animals; it's often the people you remember just as much, and what you've learned about the continent. We’re just adding seeing the gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda.
All the trips are personally designed, or as the Brits say: bespoke. Which sounds a bit like a bicycle to this American.
DM if interested. And thanks, yet again, to the great artist, Nicholas Kahn Kahn & Selesnick for our logo!
