Recently, I was asked how I went from collecting rocks and minerals to selling them as well. I'd say the most significant thing is to be the mineral dealer you yourself would want to do business with more than once. It started from a number of things. I first joined facebook in the hopes of connecting with others who like rocks and minerals as I do. Once I started posting what I had in my own coll

ection, I thought maybe some folks might be interested in trading specimens and even buying some. From there it’s been kind of sn*******ng into what it is now. It's a process though; I'm still learning and improving a little each week. Most importantly, I’m doing what I love. Of course the basics of running any business also apply to selling mineral specimens. Treat people fairly and respectfully; always provide helpful answers to any questions they may ask and do your best to help fulfill their needs. It’s always important to know your material in addition to being honest and accurate in describing what you have available. Being self-employed does not mean being on permanent vacation. It’s best to get things done efficiently as if your livelihood depends on it – because it does. Set both short and long term goals and do your best to meet them on time. The short term goals could be something to be accomplished by the end of the day or week, used as stepping stones towards achieving those long term goals. Being your own boss is about being disciplined and productive, making smart investments and ethical decisions. It isn’t rocket science, its common sense and the best way to run a successful business. It is our pleasure to offer a variety of mineral specimens suitable for anyone's tastes, budget, wants, and needs. It is through our customers, trading partners, investors, and the lasting relationship with each that we can one day become a lasting and influential presence in the mineral world. Our reputation is and will always be our greatest asset, and we will treat it as such as we conduct our business today, tomorrow, and every other day of our existence.
