For anyone that hasn’t been following. Kristin Harila has just beaten the record for the 14 (8000m) peaks. She attempted this last year and looked good but was thwarted by permits for Cho Oyu and Shishapangma. She didn’t make that mistake twice and got them out of the way first. Last of the 14 - K2 summited in the last hour.

Norwegian mountaineer kristin_harila got one step closer to her target of becoming the quickest person to summit all 14 peaks of over 8,000 metres in the world when she summited Mount Manaslu in Nepal, her 12th of 14.

Harila is aiming to break the record of Nepal’s Nirmal Purja who submitted all 14 peaks of 8,000m in six months and six days.

The 36-year-old Norwegian, who started her record expedition in April this year, has done 12 peaks in less than five months and now needs to summit two more peaks before November 2.

Now she need help ⬇️ to achieve this remarkable record

It is still the case that I need help to get permit from the Chinese authorities to climb Shishapangma and Cho Oyu🏔🏔

Today, I have sent a letter to the Norwegian Sports Minister , where I ask for advice and assistance from the Norwegian government🙏🏻
As responsible for culture, sport, and equality in Norway, she has taken a clear position in raising the issue of gender equality in sports🙏🏻

I need all the help I can get to beat this record. I am running out of time and options!

Six times Acro Paragliding World Cup Champion and a Guinness World Record holder. Horacio Llorens with Thomas de Dorlodot is in Pakistan to make another world record, he mentioned on his post

“We just spent 3 weeks exploring the Baltoro glacier here in Pakistan. We had 10 amazing flights, we reached K2 flying for the first time and opened epic new lines. We often flew above 7000 meters, soared the steep faces of K2 and flew above Broad Peak’s camp 3. It’s very humbling to fly in between those huge mountains without any landing options.

The weather has been terrible this last week so we hiked to the nearest town to get fresh fruits, and to talk to our families. We are now in Askole waiting for a better weather window. and I decided to postpone our flight back to Europe. We are now preparing to go back to base camp. We want to give another try to the altitude World record. Wish us luck and strong winds in altitude… 🪂🏔😉

The forgotten temples :

The Amb Temples known as Amb Sharif (Urdu: امب شریف; "Noble Amb"), are part of an abandoned Hindu temple complex on the Sakesar mountain, located at the western edge of the Salt Range in Pakistan's Punjab province. Although foundations go back to the period of Kushan Empire, the temple complex was built in the 9th to 10th centuries CE during the reign of the Hindu Shahi empire.

Amb temples are part of our ancient heritage and both people and the government have a responsibility towards preserving this gem in the middle of lush green rolling mountains. The site should be protected and an archaeological research project as well as tourism promotion undertaken.
