We have had calls and visits here at the Visitors Center depot about the UP Big Boy. It will NOT be traveling through Van Buren, it will be running down the eastern side of Arkansas on the way to Houston, TX. It will travel through the eastern part of Oklahoma on the return trip. Here is the map of the Big Boy's route and schedules for Arkansas and Oklahoma.

The second year of our Downtown Art Banners is coming! Join us in making Main Street a vibrant showcase of Art.

Stand out as a supporter of the arts and a champion of our community by sponsoring an art banner in downtown Van Buren, AR. Your name or business logo can be displayed on a banner featuring art from a local artist. The Art banners will be displayed in 2025 along Main Street in Van Buren from mid-January until Memorial Day.

Your support will not only enhance the beauty of our city, but also provide a platform for local artists to showcase their creativity and talent for all to see. Help us keep this tradition alive and join us in making a difference today!

The available number of banners is limited. Please submit your art banner sponsorship by Sept. 15, 2024.

Anyone and all ages can help us adorn Main Street with Art. You can submit your artwork and be a part of this amazing project.

Newest in the Van Buren Park system is the Chad and Betty Ann Colley Wilderness Park which offers bike riders a close-to-home mountain bike experience. Riders can hone their bike-handling skills while enjoying the scenic, winding trail through Oak Woods.
