Our Story

Sophie’s Guest House is your home-away-from-home in scenic Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Our newly renovated 3 bedroom (2 queen beds and one full bed) 2 bath brick ranch, provides a level of comfort that beckons couples, business travelers, and other visitors to explore our county, or enjoy a short drive to the city. Seniors enjoy all the comforts that a ranch home offers, with everything on one floor. We can accommodate 5 total guests, no exceptions please. We regret that the guest house is not suitable for infants, children or pets, but we can recommend other lodging options in the area. With all 5-star ratings, and consistently earning Superhost status on Airbnb, and Premier status on VRBO/Home Away, we aim to offer the discerning traveler an impeccably clean, cozy alternative, to a traditional hotel chain. All the modern amenities including cable TV, Wi-Fi and central AC are available. Our guests love to have their morning coffee or evening glass of wine on the quaint patio, with the woods and a creek providing a tranquil setting. In the cooler weather, snuggle up in a vintage rocking chair, and enjoy a good book and the warmth of our charming electric fireplaces. Nestled on an acre of property along Alt. 66 (Dime Road), we are located just minutes from Vandergrift, Leechburg and Apollo, and only a short distance from Ford City and Kittanning. Indiana is less than 40 minutes away, and Pittsburgh is a 45 minute drive. For your convenience, everything is located on one floor. There is ample parking in the driveway. Rate of $125/night + tax for 2 guests, each additional guest is $10.00/night up to 5 guests. Guests who reserve our home have access to the entire house with the bedroom(s) of their choice (one with private bath). As a service to our guests, we do not charge an additional fee for housekeeping. Thus, we respectfully request that bedrooms not being utilized remain closed, so that we know they are cleaned and prepared for our next guests. Thank you in advance!
