Spain is the birthplace of paella, and there are purists who are very strict on the subject of what ingredients are allowed in the pan for it to be called a "paella". Those dishes not made following these strict rules are, according to them, to be called "rice with things" but never "paella". At great risk of being excommunicated by the conservative paella movement, I have started experimenting with "ethnic" variations of the dish. I am the creator for example of the "True American Paella" made using barbecue smoked meats like brisket, pulled pork, and baby back ribs "BBQ paella" there is no other paella more American than that! Here I share with you another paella in development, the Rotisserie Chicken and Chorizo Meatball Paella (Lord have mercy on my soul)...
