%@$×! Greyback Gulch. Out on a fright night ride with the ever talented Miss Jessica and I try to go dark for the story handover. The giant off road light will not turn off. She is starting her scary stories and I have that retina searing monster lighting the area like high noon. Switch has failed right? That's what I thought too. In desperation I reach under and remove it from the dash. No amount of tapping or twisting will turn it off. Finally I just bend the terminal back and forth until it breaks off. You can imagine my surprise when nothing happened. Surface of the sun up there. A relay had failed, the Greyback spirits had struck again. We are going out tonight if you want to tempt the fates with us!

Today we visited Nessie's grave to plant flowers, Shay said hello to one of the oldest fir trees on the mountain and filled the trailer with noxious weeds and garbage from above Summit City. Good day.

There is a very determined bluebird pair insisting on building a nest on the truck. Each morning I remove it. Feel bad about that but any eggs laid would die during the day so it is for the best. Thinking about parking someplace else for a few days to see if they might be persuaded to look for different building sites.

Sometimes exploring and learning about the mining in this area has hidden dangers. Everyone is OK with a few bumps but it might put a damper on the tours for the 4 and 5 of July. Look what we found working on the road yesterday a hydraulic mining pressure collector. The pipe carrying the stream is necked down into a smaller pipe before being blasted out at the bank to wash the dirt into a sluice box.
