Though all our eleven values are important, a select few help shape our reputation as an employer and as a business more than others. Transparency is one such value. A phrase most Watkins employees are familiar with is, “If you think you need to know, then you do.” Our leadership and management teams have fostered a Transparent environment in which the information employees need to do the best job possible is always just a question away. In this last video of our 2023 Watkins Way value series, employees discuss why Transparency is important, and how they see Transparency in action at Watkins.
At Watkins Wellness, we win by helping each other and participating in a collaborative culture that prioritizes the we over the me. In this video, employees share some examples of teamwork they've experienced firsthand at Watkins, including pulling together to support our customers and driving cross-functional error proofing initiatives.
Life shouldn't be all about work. In fact, recent data indicates that job-seekers are increasingly choosing employers that emphasize work-life balance more than those that offer higher pay. In this video, we asked Watkins Wellness employees how they feel their work-life balance is supported at Watkins, and why work-life balance matters to them.
Meet Maria, our Dealer Support Inventory Planner. Maria was hired back in 1988 and has held multiple roles in our Dealer Support group over the years. Here, she talks about her career at Watkins and the relationships she's built during her tenure.
While all of our eleven Watkins Way values are important, Ethics is the foundational value that is at the core of our business. For 45+ years, Watkins has built its reputation on being an ethical employer, manufacturer, and partner to our many dealer customers. In this video, we asked employees why they care about working for an ethical company, and what ethics looks like at Watkins.
Meet Daniel, a Manufacturing Associate who was hired all the way back in 1988! With this year marking Daniel's 35th service anniversary, he reflects back on some of his fondest memories at Watkins.
Accountability is an important part of our Watkins Way culture. We are accountable for our actions and outcomes, good or bad. Fostering a culture of accountability starts with creating a psychologically safe environment where employees feel comfortable sharing mistakes and talking openly about areas of opportunity. In this video, we asked employees what accountability looks like at Watkins and why accountability matters.
Relationships are the foundation on which our culture is built. This includes the relationships our employees have with one another, across the five countries where we operate and have teammates, and the relationships we’ve built with our valued customers, who are located in all 50 states and more than 70 countries. Several of our team members have been part of the Watkins family for more than 40 years. When employees achieve this major service milestone, we always ask, “Why stay at a job for four decades?” Across the board, their answers are slight variations on one thing: “The people.” Aside from contributing to longer employee tenure, our relationships with one another improve motivation, collaboration, and productivity, and connect and align us toward a common vision.
We are all responsible for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Watkins Wellness. We believe that we all benefit when we embrace diversity of thought, are mindful and accepting of individual perspectives and cultural differences, and consider and address any possible barriers to full inclusion for all employees. When every employee is able to bring their full self to work and share their perspectives and ideas, we – our company, our community, and each one of us – is better able to grow and succeed.
Safety is one of our core Watkins Way values. While safety in our manufacturing facility is of paramount importance, and we stress that no job is so critical that we can’t take the time to perform it safely, feeling safe at work encompasses more than just physical safety. We endeavor to create a psychologically safe workplace where employees feel comfortable speaking up with their ideas, concerns, questions, and mistakes.
On St. Patrick’s Day, our AHS team had the opportunity to prepare and serve lunch to the families staying at the Rmhc SD. Check out this video recapping the fun afternoon, which culminated in the presentation of $30,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities for the amazing work they do housing the families of children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions in our local hospitals.
We’re continuing to take a closer look at each one of the eleven core values that make up The Watkins Way. For our March focus on being Accommodating, we asked employees to speak on how accommodating others is an important part of fostering successful working relationships here at Watkins.
Throughout 2023, we’re taking a closer look at each one of the eleven core values that make up The Watkins Way. For our February focus on our Passionate value, we asked employees around the company to speak on why they're passionate about Who We Are and What We Do here at Watkins.
Our Watkins Way values are the foundation of everything we do at Watkins; they shape how we conduct business and how we interact with each other, our suppliers, dealer partners, and end user customers. Throughout 2023, we’ll take a closer look at each one of our eleven values, beginning with an apropos value for the new year; Goal Driven.
