Exciting news! 🌞🌙 We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to be part of the Eclipse Over Texas: Live from Waco event on Monday, April 8. As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in sharing the rare astronomical spectacle of a total solar eclipse with attendees. Free event admission, t-shirt, and more! Choose from the following:

1) Parking Shift 1, 5:30am-9:30am, 8 of 20 filled
2) Parking Shift 2, 9:30a-1:15p, 2 of 20 filled
3) Crowd Support Shift 2, 10:30am-1:15pm, 5 0f 30 filled

Shuttle 1:
Stops: Dr Pepper Museum, Mayborn Museum, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, and Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum.
Feel free to hop on and off at these attractions.
Shuttle 2:
Stops: Dr Pepper Museum, STEAMClipse, Cameron Park Zoo, and Waco Mammoth National Monument.

Make your own lantern for the Eclipse lantern parade!

Light up the night with us on Sunday, April 7 as the City of Waco hosts a walking lantern parade across the iconic Waco Suspension Bridge!

Bring your family and friends and join us at Indian Spring Park for this unique experience, which includes a free riverfront concert by Dwight Yoakam, Kaitlin Butts and Ty Myers.

Gates open at 4 p.m. (free admission), with music starting at 5 p.m. The parade will begin at 9 p.m., followed by a cosmic, 300-drone aerial display.

Our friends at the Waco-McLennan County Library and Art Center Waco are even partnering with us to offer FREE lantern-making workshops, so you can be part of the parade!

Announcing a special feature at the Eclipse Over Texas: Live from Waco event! For the blind and low vision community, Lowell Observatory will have a LightSound device for you to "listen" to the eclipse. The device uses a technique called sonification which is the process of converting data (or light intensity in this case) to sound. Please stop by to experience this for yourself!
