Our little blossoming artist joined our family in 1976. Her love for the world love bounded from within her. She left butterfly kisses along her way, leaving no one without a kiss. As her little boots stomped their way through any obstacle that would stop the strongest warrior. Passion for life and art poured forth from her. The artist’s work spoke to us and her teachers. The embrace of her hands brought forth a vision of great love. From a young age she could make the best vases and pots. Years later, many think her pottery was made by a master potter. We had to explain to them, it was her early years. As an adult, her art improved. Even her paintings as a child spoke to the world. Her little viola sang to us, her love for life. She is like her viola; she brings both sides together. She is a true joiner. Her desire for peace within the community and the world is her drive to join sides to become one caring group. Yes, like a viola bring the violin and cello together, Deborah wants sides to blend. Her works stood proudly. Like a brave soldier presenting itself before its journey to college and beyond. From a stubborn little girl, her drive to higher education drove her to teaching abroad, nothing stopped her or changed her soul. She was a teacher in Taiwan, where she met her future husband. Hugo followed her to Japan, where they finally got married. Hugo saw her giving soul. He was shocked by it. We say even illness only made her work harder to make others happy. She truly has a giving soul. Her drive showed itself even more after college. The itch for adventure took our little artist to the Island of Formosa, Taiwan, not just to teach. Upon her arrival, the Island of Formosa felt the beauty of her viola and the wonders of her art. She played her viola and showed her skills to others.
