This review from a recent guest highlights many home details:
"Thank you so much to the hosts of the fabulous Owlhaven vacation home in Waldport, Oregon. We had so badly needed a home away from home after weeks of staying at home orders and homeschooling kids. It was such a beautiful way for our 2 families to welcome the Summer of 2020. Especially in this time of keeping distance, this large house allowed us all to have our own space yet share in the family feel of the homes central upstairs area. Pulling up to the home we already loved that the Owlhaven is on a Dead End Street with quiet neighbors road and little-to-no traffic. Our entire stay we only encountered a handful of people near the house or out on our road. Also, our sons 8 and 12 were able to ride safely out in from of the house. Our 12 and 16 year old boys loved riding down to the corner store on their bikes and they could also easily ride to the beach access less than 5 min from the house by bike. The house was spacious with an open upstairs floor plan from the north to the south of the house. The ocean views from the upstairs were so great. A perfectly placed wood bar with high stools faced out towards the ocean offering a perfect nook to have coffee and watch the waves in the morning. The family dining table sat 11 comfortably and was really amazing. The island was so useful as a central hub for the upstairs and offered a great place to dish up plates for family dinners. The sprawling countertops and unique backsplash were so pretty. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need as far as appliances and dishes. The fridge and freezer were a great size and fit all of our food we had brought to prepare during our stay. Also, having the little Baycenter Market just down at the end of the road was convenient when someone needed a little something that we didn’t have. Grand Central Pizza in downtown Waldport was really good, and since we decided to have it on our first night there, we had plenty of leftovers for the next few days, which worked out really well. There were 5 fabulous bedrooms downstairs which all had really comfortable beds, TV’s, gaming systems, and were all immaculately decorated. Each had a name of its own which was featured in the doorway which was such a sweet touch. My 12 year old son stayed in the adorable ‘Princess Bedroom” which was fashionably decorated and included a chandelier ceiling light as a extra touch of elegance. He wanted to make sure that I let you know he said, “That was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in even if it was made for a princess!” There were two [master suites] with sliding doors off of each of them leading to the back patio where the hot tub was. One of our favorite parts of the downstairs was the coolest 4 nautical bunk beds we have ever seen. The kids were blown away and enjoyed playing and sleeping in them. There is a huge laundry room features two full sets of washer and dryers, allowed for everyone to be able to keep laundering going, plus they really stocked it with anything might need including the wagon, chairs, cots, and linens. The upstairs King Master bedroom featured a back patio, comfortable king bed, large windows face in the cliffs on the backside of the house, and a huge attached bathroom with a shower that will have to speak for itself. It was really an amazing space to spend the week in with my husband. The hosts really did a great job on all of the rooms. The king master just had a couple extra special touches that we greatly appreciated. The deck off the kitchen slider was the perfect venue to take in the ocean view solidified this as the perfect home for our 3 day family getaway. There was ...a sandbox for the little ones in the fully fenced backyard. We have to mention that the latching gates at the top of both staircases demonstrate the special attention paid to safety by the owners of this home. Us parents really appreciated this feature as it allowed to rest assured that the little wandering feet of the toddler would be contained upstairs safely and also kept her contained in the yard when playing. The walk to the beach would take about 10-15 minutes, but it is an easy stroll with only one moderate hill on the way back up to the house. We used the beach access parking which was great. The house supplied beach toys, chairs, a sturdy hauling wagon that folded up to fit in the back of the car which was so helpful when we were getting all the beach supplies out to the area we picked to hang at for the day. The beach was really great and the weather cooperated nicely! Even on our ‘drizzily’ rainy day, the house had so many fun amenities for the kids and adults. Board games , video-games, movies, puzzles, and books were available for us to enjoy. The hot tub was clean, under the cover of the deck, and felt amazing when we just wanted to relax or warming up after a long day at the beach. We enjoyed an awesome family style Italian Dinner in celebration of Father’s Day as well as a brunch. The large kitchen and dining room hosted both of these perfectly! They also had a highchair for the littlest guest which was so thoughtful. We also liked that there was easy parking right at the door step and plenty of extra parking if you needed."
