We want to honor the passing of a running community legend. Mark Zenobia was not only a friend of mine and my parents, he was a generous man and a diamond to the running community. We have truly lost a great one. All of our hearts go out to Barbara, his wife and his family.

We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of tomorrow’s event. In communications with the Bernards township police department based on current and expected course conditions , and for the safety of the runners and all safety personnel, the race for tomorrow is canceled. We will meet with the town in the coming week to decide if there will be a new date for the race. A further email will be sent at that time. We really appreciate your understanding

Some of our VAST swim team helped time the Florida vs FSU swim meet

In between some of the events there were pro swimmers doing some time trials

Attached is a picture of Katie Ledecky that swam a 500 yard time trial

Also swimming today was Caleb Dressel, Bobby Finke , Natalie Hinds and 2 other Olympic swimmers

Spring Distance Classic update: due to expected low temperatures at the start of the 5k, there will be no on course water for the 5k only!! The 15k course water will be decided and announced Saturday morning.

Why pictures of The Fantastic 4? In Marvel Knights #4-6, the team went camping in the Pine Barrens and encountered a extraterrestrial being that originated the legend of the Jersey Devil. Thor& Dr. Strange arrived later on to help.

It’s here. Welcome to our brand new Event. The Pine Barrens Virtual Challenge starting on February 21st-April 21st 2023. Registration is now open.

Run if you dare and become NJ’s newest legend.
_
Run through the Pine Barrens (60 miles-1 mile a day avg)- Run North to South straight through the middle of the barrens. Look out for strange sights along the way.
_
_
North half of the Barrens (120 miles-2 miles a day avg)-Travel around the North half of the Barrens. Keep an eye out for the Jersey Devil.
_
South half of the Barrens (186 miles-3.11 miles a day avg) Travel around the Southern half of the barrens. Watch out for buried bodies.
_
Around the Pine Barrens Relay or Individual (250 miles-4.2 miles a day avg). Start as a team or team of 1 at the GSP in Toms River and travel around the circumference of the Barrens. Just because you don’t go in doesn’t mean you’re safe!
