Stacking is so fun!
It creates a whole new look. :)

With the largest sample inventory in the area, we love finding just the right frame. Many of our customers like simple designs, and we do plenty of frames with clean lines and neutral colors. But, we also carry everything from bright colors, to rustic and ornate. Plus, a great selection of stained woods, matte black, and metals.

Hi, Friends!

We recently replaced hangers and wires on several paintings, done by a beloved grandpa, after one of them fell off the wall. The owner brought the rest in, and we found that another wire had already begun to break.

It's good to check the supports on the back. Metal screw eyes often pull out, (which is why we don't use them), and braided wire can break. There are better attachments and wire available now, and we can either replace them, or sell you the parts. We also have other hanging methods, for large, heavy frames.

Folks also like replacing glass. Most old art has regular glass, which filters 43% of UV light. Conservation glass filters 99%, so replacing that really helps to protect art. If we open the piece, we also check to see if any art hinges have come loose, and replace any cardboard backings that can cause acid burns on art.

We also make home trips, for folks with limited mobility. :)

Hi, Friends! Just a heads up that we'll be closed this Saturday, May 6th. We're open today and Friday, until 5:30, and will be open next week, Thursday thru Saturday.

And a big thanks, to all of you, for supporting our new business model. For two years, we've been open Thursday through Saturday. We also meet any other day of the week, by appointment, to fit your schedules. It's part of our plan, and we're often quite busy on our 'closed' days. We'll even meet evenings, if need be, and it's been great for all.

Wishing you a great Spring! :)

Wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving! We're closed Thursday and Saturday this week, but will be open on Friday, the 25th.

And, we have new art! Along with our current wonderful creatives, we have new originals by Nancy Norman, and new bird prints by Hiroko Cannon. Also, some delightful cat cards by Lorna Barth. Playful takes on famous paintings, with a cat theme, and names like, 'Clawed Monet'. We also have new bracelets by Celia Martin. It's fun to see what Celia dreams up, and these copper bracelets are beauties. Also, some silver and one gold-filled.

Wishing you all a safe holiday, and see you soon! :)

It's been almost a year since we changed to a Thursday - Saturday schedule. We're also happy to meet any other day, by appointment, to fit your schedules. This allows us more time to do our secret framing magic, and it also gives more time for house calls.

Thanks to all of our wonderful customers for your support! :)

Hi, Friends! Just a heads-up that there will be no parking on our street on September 21st. Signs went up today, so I'm letting all know that they only apply to that one day. (And since it's a Wednesday, we'll be closed. But, as always, we're still happy to meet any day of the week.)

Thanks for your wonderful support, and enjoy these blue skies! :)

Hi, Friends. We're open this week on the following days. Friday and Saturday, (August 5 and 6), both days open from 10:00-4:00. Thanks, and see you soon! :)

Artist Hiroko Cannon, in a wonderful OPB profile. We have carried her cards and prints for years, and it's always a pleasure when she visits. This chance to see her at work is a real treat. :)

Master water color artist uses tiny brushes to create intricate detail in her portraits of birds she observes near her home. Hiroko moved from Tokyo to Pendleton in 1986 – a culture shock at first, but today she can’t imagine leaving the beauty of Eastern Oregon.

Regional phone systems are having trouble this week. It's due to hacking at some provider, and is affecting many area users. A customer just said that construction workers also cut through a fiber optic cable. If you're trying to contact us and can't get through, feel free to write here. We're also still getting e-mail. It's kingfisherwalla2 and is at yahoo.com. Thanks, and sorry for any trouble. Our computers and card machine are still working, just no landline.

Our Story

Twenty-seven years of framing design experience, with many happy customers. We give free design estimates and take time to explain the mat, glass and mounting options. For those of you who live in town, this is the shop formerly known as Fenton/Stahl Gallery. Shanna & her husband Dirk bought the business in March of 2014. The gallery space shows both original art & prints. Paintings, pottery, photography, sculpture, jewelry and cards. Our custom shop frames everything from posters to original artwork, as well as fabric art, paintings and prints on canvas, and shadow box style frames. We carry a range of quality in matboards and glass, including conservation glass, which comes in three finishes and helps to protect artwork from fading. Matboards in a wide range of colors, including cotton rag and Alpharag artcare boards. Kingfisher also custom cuts mats/glass to fit customers' existing frames, so feel free to ask if you have a question about art at home. Picture framing for Walla Walla and beyond. :)
