Archaeology-focused tours for the curious to the connoisseur
AIA Tours are not designed for professional archaeologists but for inquisitive travelers wishing to learn from experts who are chosen for both their knowledge and ability to deliver lively and informative talks. By traveling on an AIA Tour you directly support the AIA while personally gaining the benefit of the AIA’s network of scholars and worldwide contacts.
AIA travelers enjoy learning firsthand about cultural history by viewing splendid archaeological sites, art, and architecture, and by exploring museums, private collections, and craft shops. Enjoy special meetings with guest experts, behind-the-scenes visits, dance and musical performances, and stops at galleries and local markets.
AIA land tours are for small groups of 10 to 20 participants; many are limited to a maximum of just 14 participants. Each well-paced itinerary is planned for ample time at each site. We avoid one-night stands whenever possible, staying two to four nights at each of our carefully chosen hotels.
AIA small-ship voyages are aboard comfortable to luxurious private, yacht-like vessels with between 18 and 120 cabins. Unpack just once and travel with ease, docking in the heart of smaller, historic ports, close to each extraordinary site.
The AIA Tours capable and friendly office staff make it easy to prepare from start to finish. A professional trip director and highly trained local guides handle all of the logistics during each tour and make sure that your vacation runs effortlessly.
