WALTHAM PRIDE FESTIVAL SUNDAY

The third annual Waltham Pride festival will take place on Sunday, June 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Waltham Common.

The event involves music, food trucks, Zumba, vendors, drag and much more. All are welcome.

• This year, vehicular traffic will be allowed on Moody Street at all times (7 days a week). There will be no change to traffic patterns and area residents will have full access to side streets.
• Outdoor dining & retail will be available to approved restaurants & businesses within their parking lane or sidewalk from May 24, 2024 through September 2, 2024.
Any Moody Street business wanting to use the parking space(s) in front of their business for outdoor dining or retail are advised to complete a permit application with the Traffic Commission.

I'm pleased to announce that tonight, the License and Franchises committee, of which I serve as chair, has granted approval for the following restaurants to extend their seating onto Moody St. sidewalks for outdoor dining between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2024:

Ponzu, Amuleto, Tempo, DaVinci, Peppinos Dosi, Waku Waku Ramen, Solea, and Bistro 781.

Don't worry, though - we're making sure there's still plenty of space for everyone to stroll with a clear path of at least five feet. And shoutout to In a Pickle for being ahead of the game with their application back on April 16th! Let's make this a summer to remember !

Waltham officials are teaming up with Special Olympics Massachusetts to host A Special Day in Waltham on June 1.

Organizers are seeking athletes to participate in this inclusive free event for ages 5 and older.

A Special Day in Waltham will feature music, food, soccer, a home run derby, co****le and other games.

2024 MOODY OUTDOOR DINING

On Wednesday, the Waltham License Commission will consider requests from 13 businesses to operate outside from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Moody Street:

Amuleto
Bistro 781
Da Vinci Ristorante
Deep Ellum
In a Pickle
Peppino’s Dosa
Ponzu
Shoppers
Solea
Sweet Basil
Tempo
Vinotta
Waku Waku

Other businesses could still apply to operate outside this summer on Moody.

Those that receive all the necessary permits (from the license commission, traffic commission and the city council) will be allowed to operate in parking spaces behind concrete Jersey barriers.

Unlike previous years, Moody Street will not be closed down this summer, so outdoor dining will happen as vehicle traffic passes through.

The Waltham Farmers’ Market operates a food access program called SNAP Match at our farmers market that allows Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) recipients to receive a
dollar-for-dollar match of up to $10 per week to purchase SNAP eligible foods. The person in this role will interact with customers at our market to facilitate this program.

The live drawing for the Waltham Chamber restaurant raffle Live Drawing happens on WCAC and Facebook on Thursday, November 30 at 6:00 p.m.

The prize is 52 $25 gift certificates to various Waltham Restaurants ($1,300 value). The idea is to eat out every week of the year.

The goal of the raffle is to promote Waltham restaurants.

One ticket is $30, while four tickets are $100.
