Michael Boyd is a USMC Veteran who served 9 years in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of of OIF/OEF. He lives in Minnesota with his wife (and fierce advocate ) Kate, and their 5 children. It has been a tough road coping as a family with Michael's debilitating kidney disease and dependence on dialysis.

Their prayers for a transplant have been answered thanks to the love of an anonymous living kidney donor. This donor may wish to be "outed" in the near future. But for now, the donor wants to convey their gratitude for having this opportunity to give back to this special man and family who need their dad.

We also want to acknowledge the generous contribution of an anonymous donor who is ensuring Michael and his family are able to stay near the transplant center during his weeks long recovery.

Join us in praying for a successful surgeries and easy recoveries for both Michael and his donor.

We are endlessly grateful to all organ donors and for witnessing generosity and humanity throughout the continuum of the transplant experience.

On 3/7/2024, Karolyn Goodwin's life changed forever. She received a living kidney from altruistic living donor Susan Shelton. Susan was inspired to donate after seeing a social media post on her local community group about the organization DOVE Transplant - Living Kidney Donation for Veterans
DOVE is a non-profit program that aims to increase access to living kidney donor transplantation for US Veterans. It helps find, educate, and support prospective donors and matches them to Veterans registered with DOVE.
Karolyn, a retired army vet, was our Team's 36th Veteran living donor kidney transplant recipient. She said, "No one has ever done anything like this for me, and I don't deserve this." It was my honor to say she did deserve this. I thank her for her service and for allowing me to give back through DOVE. - Sharyn Kreitzer
