A great time was had by all at the Kinzua Dam Visitors Center at the Kinzua History Open House today! We were lucky enough to get glimpses of the past of the now underwater town of Kinzua, Corydon, and Morrison through photos and old news clippings shared, former residents of Kinzua and Corydon, and historians! We were able to envision what life was like in these communities before the construction of the Kinzua Dam. Thank you to all that made this possible and we hope for another opportunity!

It's time for Feature Friday! Last week's Feature was the 61st Annual Fireman's Festival. We would still like to give a shout out to the Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department for the fireworks that are scheduled tomorrow night at Sheffield Memorial Park. They have been the talk of Warren County for how grand they are for several years! This week's Feature is the Kinzua History Open House scheduled tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kinzua Dam Visitors Center. We think it's important to remember the cost of what many people paid for the beautiful recreation areas that we enjoy today. While the Kinzua Dam has saved over 1 billion in flood damages, it came at a cost of displacing many communities. It is important that villiages such as Kinzua are not forgotten under the waters of the reservoir. Life in Kinzua and the other lost villages should be history that is passed down through generation after generation. People like Bob Schmid, Jim Morrison, and residents of the former village of Kinzua, have organized photos and newspaper clippings to preserve the memories of these former communities so they may never be forgotten. Please join me this Saturday in meeting with these remarkable people and I guarantee you will walk away with valuable and intriguing knowledge to pass on. Let's keep these former communities alive in our hearts!

I grew up listening to 92 Gold and still do, so what an honor it was to be invited to the studio by John Robbins of 92 Gold and 104.3 Kinzua Country for an interview on my favorite subject, Warren County! Tune into 92 Gold this Sunday morning between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. to hear about the many great events that are coming up throughout Warren County, how the Warren County Visitors Bureau promotes local events, and why I never left this beautiful county after seven generations of my family living in Warren County since 1810! I had the great privilege of running into our friend Jackie Palmer from Erie News Now in the studio who also promotes our beautiful area! Thank you John for such an enjoyable interview!
