Hidden Barn Batch 23B was awarded a Double Gold with a score of 98, and is a finalist in the Best Small Batch Bourbon Category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition “Small-batch bourbons are like paintings made by a distillery. Join us this Sunday, July 7th at 1pm when we open for our oldest Hidden Barn release to date! Distilled by Royce Neeley and aged five years in 24 month air seasoned barrels, and then barreled in new charred French oak barrels for an additional two years. Awarded 91 points and a Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Jackie Zykan notes the Hidden Barn Seven-Year-Old Bourbon has a gorgeous bouquet of overripe blackberry and red currant, coupled with crème brulee and a hint of spearmint. Rich and full bodied on the palate, with a semi dry rounded finish, coupled with toasted allspice, banana bread, and black pepper. This whiskey was not chill filtered before bottling, and is bottled at cask strength, 109.4 proof. Royce Neeley will be in the gift shop to sign your bottles. Cocktails, tours and tastings will also be happening all day.

Warsaw's Lanham Furniture Factory burned down on this date, June 27, 1940. There were three Warsaw Furniture Factories. McDanell's was between Second and Sparta Pike, behind the residences on the south side of Pearl. Lanham's (you may also hear it described as Prill's, who were later owners) was on Main Street, behind where Kentucky Motors is today. It burned down on June 27, 1940. The third, the Bogardus Factory, later owned by Barry Brown, was begun in 1902, originally made dining room and hall furniture which was shipped to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and South America. It was across U.S. 42 from the cemetery, and was torn down in March, 1995.
