On your next trip to Scotland, make sure you try one of these dishes! šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁓ó æ

Festy c**k (get your mind out of the gutter): usually eaten to commemorate shrove Tuesday, these oat pancakes are pressed and shaped into a bird shape šŸ“

Rumbledethumps: a mashup of potatoes, onions and cabbage šŸ§…

Clapshot: another mash of sweet turnips and potatoes with chives and butter šŸ„”

Crappit Heid: like haggis but inside a fish head. Iā€™ll stop the description there šŸŸ

Clootie Dumpling: a traditional Scottish boiled pudding, sometimes served with a whiskey saucešŸš°

Tipsy Laird: no, this isnā€™t just our founder when sheā€™s had a little too much to drink. This dessert, often served at the end of a Burns night, is a Scottish take on a trifle, with raspberries and whiskey. šŸ„ƒ

Haggis: the dish that needs no introduction, itā€™s the national dish of Scotland and...an acquired taste if we do say so ourselves...šŸ½ļø

Which of these- or other Scottish dish- sounds the best to you? Tell us in the comments! šŸ’™šŸ¤

šŸ Vacation rentals come with many perks - extra space for larger families, full kitchens, private outdoor space, etc. But leaving your home-away-from-home often requires a bit more attention before you check out. While no two rentals have the exact same policies, here are a few common things to pay attention to regarding your check-out conditions:

šŸ§ŗ Laundry, specifically used towels and linens
šŸ„›What to do with leftover fridge, freezer, and pantry items.
šŸ“ Outdoor equipment and areas (pool, sports equipment, barbeques, etc) being left in their original condition
šŸ½ļø Dishes - washed and put away, washed, or just left in the sink
šŸŒ”ļø Most places ask that the home temperature is reset/put at an energy saving level before guests leave.

Another important step is to take inventory of anything that is broken or needs attention from the property owner! Always be sure to keep communication respectful and be factual in your reporting.

Mark your calendars! šŸ—“ļø On Monday, April 8th, portions of the U.S. will experience a total solar eclipse and weā€™re already planning ā€œEclipse Tripsā€ for some of our clients! Swipe to read more about this unique travel experience.

Our recommendations for the best place to view totality? Weā€™re partial to the Hill Country of Texas šŸ¤  (stay tuned for more on this great destination in the coming weeks) and upstate New York, especially around Niagara Falls šŸ’¦ (see our saved highlight on our favorite things to do in that region).

As always, we have to remind you that itā€™s never a good idea to stare directly at the sun šŸ˜Ž- make sure you pick up eclipse glasses or a viewer to see this historic event!

Are you traveling to see the total solar eclipse? Tell us about it in the comments! If youā€™re considering it, reach out to WanderWell Travelers today- we would love to chat.

1. One of core values is the support of Native American artisans through fair trade practices and philanthropic efforts. While best known for rugs, Garlandā€™s also sells authentic Native jewelry, pottery, paintings, and more.

2. Canyon Outfitters is Sedonaā€™s premier outdoor store. Not only can you get great hiking and camping gear there, but you also will be supporting the conservation of Sedona and the planet, as they are members of the Sedona Red Rock Trail Fund and the fund.

3. The Coffee Pot. This no-frills but reliable family friendly restaurant has made it a point to help the homeless population by providing meals every Thanksgiving. A worthy establishment to support!

4. Twice Nice Thriftique, part of , helps to provide life-saving support and services to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.

5. The Chai Spot supports women and childrenā€™s educational and vocational opportunities in Pakistan by donating 50% of their proceeds. Come for the hot butter chai, stay for the cozy vibes.

As you also may know, at , giving back is part of our core values, with a percentage of each contract going towards refugee organizations.
