Historic Strolls wants you to be safe. Stay home, wash your hands, wear a mask if you must go out. Here is a photo from one of our World War One events with NASM. These fabulous actor interpreters portraying 1918 Red Cross workers remind us: staying home, wearing masks, washing hands and staying home will save lives. And Historic Strolls will return when it is safe to do so.

A Dickens of an Intern! Yes, Virgina, tis true, Dickens interns go on to great heights after interning with us. From left to right: the Fabulous Kara, Jessica, Michael (with Gerald Dickens) and now Sydney have interned on Dickens and frozen their Cratchit feet while learning just how hard it is to change costumes outdoors in December! Only Four Months until Dickens returns!!

This might be the scariest pic we got last year. It's Sydney as Anna Surratt! Eeeek! If you took a better, scarier pic on Ghost Story Tour of Washington, post on our wall and you might win ticket to this years Anniversary tour!! We are celebrating the twentieth year of telling ghost stories in DC this Fall. Eeek, indeed.

They’re reading through a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol as part of a walking tour. The read through is revelatory, the beverages divine and then comes the realization that ...

Crackers! They are a must for a Dickens Christmas...

Christmas dinner wouldn't be complete without pulling a cracker, but did you know this festive favourite dates back to Victorian times? Inspired by French bonbons and a crackling fireplace, they were first produced in the 1840s by an English sweet manufacturer.

What's the best (or worst!) joke you've ever received in a cracker?

Did you know that the Dickens Tour can be engaged as a Private Tour? We've recently done a walk about Dickens visits to Washington City for a group in June. And there was no snow! It was delightfully warm.
