June 8 is National Rosé Day! 🍷
Stop in for a flight, glass, or bottle today 12-8pm
🍷Long Post Alert 🍷
We closed our weekend in the tasting room with an after hours tasting among employees and friends.
You can see in the video we have multiple vintages of Vignoles, Marquette, 1st Harvest Red, Resurrection Red, and Glacial White ….and a surprise bottle of Railroad Red, courtesy of Chetna, who hoarded several of her ‘favorite’ 😝
Our initial goal was to see how similar our new vintages tasted compared to their previous versions.
Here are our takeaways!
1. Wines that can age in the bottle tend to smooth out and feel a bit heavier, yes. That said, our flavor profiles were pretty identical on all pairings. Even when grapes came from different vineyards. Yay! Cheers to the winemaker!
2. However- sweet wines are meant to be drank within a year or two. Our Glacial White compared 2023 vs 2020. And the older version did taste like overripe fruit… so definitely taking the downward trend.
DON’T SAVE YOUR SWEET OR FRUIT WINES! They are meant to be consumed sooner than later. Tomorrow isn’t promised when it comes to wine 😝
3. And last… Railroad Red was as spectacular as we remembered 🍷
