Alaska's undisputed king of the forest is the moose. These gentle giants, the largest moose subspecies in the world, stand tall with impressive antlers. They're surprisingly widespread, from lush forests to chilly arctic slopes. While you might spot them near some towns, always admire them from afar โ they're wild animals, and feeding them is dangerous. These majestic creatures are a symbol of Alaska, and respecting them is part of the Alaskan experience. www.AlaskanTour.com
Well if this isnโt just the cutest thing Iโve ever seen !!! Chickadeeโs waiting their turn for the bird feeder on an icicle. Can anyone beat that story?!!! Our winter entertainment out our office window . Stay tuned ๐โ๏ธ
Fall time Alaska style! Snow on our mountain peaks, reflections on the lakes. It is one of my most favorite times of the year!! Our days are in the 50โs. Our nights are getting down to the low 30โs. Already having northern lights, sightings! HOME!!!๐๐ How is your fall shaping up?
This mama moose is totally nodding, she finally gets comfortable for a nap๐ She has her two twins hanging out with her also. And yes, it is snowing today. Happy Thursday!!!
Too Many Moose
Some of our local wildlife paid us a visit yesterday morning. We don't usually see this many in such close proximity on the property. Heavy snows in the mountains has driven them down to lower grounds. They can be very aggresive this time of year. They are hungry and tired and the momma is probably getting ready to kick her offspring to the side in preparation for this year's calf. One of these small bulls still has a half-rack. Kind of late for it to be hanging on. The other bull has already shed both of his.
From our families, to all of our past and future guests. ATG would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!!!๐๐๐๐
