RILEY WILDLAND FIRE – JULY 6 – 5:30 PM
Great news! The Riley Wildland Fire is 25% contained and firefighters are making progress. Most businesses and tours near Denali National Park are open. The park will reopen to visitors on July 10th, and the Alaska Railroad will offer modified passenger service until the Denali Train Depot reopens.
UPDATE:
RILEY WILDLAND FIRE UPDATE - JULY 5
Firefighters are making steady progress on the Riley Fire, with containment holding at 5%. Multiple crews are actively working to establish firelines and utilize indirect strategies to contain the fire. Businesses in Nenana River Canyon are beginning to reopen as power is restored. While Denali National Park and Preserve remains temporarily closed, crews are optimistic about the progress made and remain committed to fully containing the fire.
UPDATE:
RILEY WILDLAND FIRE UPDATE - JULY 4 - 8:00 PM
With power now restored, most businesses and tours located outside of Denali National Park, including the Canyon Clinic, are open and operational with regular business hours.
Update:
RILEY WILDLAND FIRE UPDATE – JULY 4 – 10:00am
“Power for the Nenana Canyon / Glitter Gulch area will return to normal operation with power maintained throughout the day. Thanks to the hard work of the fire crews, the Riley Fire has moved far enough away from GVEA’s facilities that it is safe to restore power and maintain the safety of those working on fire suppression efforts.
An assessment of the Riley Fire has been completed and the containment description has been updated to 5%. This does not indicate that the fire has increased, fire containment is expressed as a percentage of a wildfire’s perimeter that has been surrounded by a barrier or control line. While there has been a substantial area of saw line completed, it is not considered contained until fire crews are confident that the fire will not breach that line. Fire crews will continue their efforts from the air and from the ground on Thursday with the priority being to expand the control line around the fire perimeter.
We understand you may have questions, but please refrain from calling our offices at this time. We are working diligently to address the situation and keep our travelers informed. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Beautiful spring day to be flying around in Alaska. From our snow capped mountains, glaciers, and miles of costal beaches!!! Our season is almost here, can’t wait to share Alaska with our 2024 guests!!
Alaska's undisputed king of the forest is the moose. These gentle giants, the largest moose subspecies in the world, stand tall with impressive antlers. They're surprisingly widespread, from lush forests to chilly arctic slopes. While you might spot them near some towns, always admire them from afar – they're wild animals, and feeding them is dangerous. These majestic creatures are a symbol of Alaska, and respecting them is part of the Alaskan experience. www.AlaskanTour.com
Beautiful drive down Turnagain arm today, with a trip up the tram. Life is good in Alaska 😎✌️

Fall time Alaska style! Snow on our mountain peaks, reflections on the lakes. It is one of my most favorite times of the year!! Our days are in the 50’s. Our nights are getting down to the low 30’s. Already having northern lights, sightings! HOME!!!💜💜 How is your fall shaping up?
Taking a walk on the boardwalk in Seward this morning. Something about it, is so soothing. Especially after alot of driving this summer. Always love the reflections😎✌️
Started out pretty foggy leaving Homer to Seldovia. But it was still an awesome boat ride. Saw so many birds, too many to name. Lots of sea otters with their pups. And even a humpback with its calf. Then enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared for us, by the Seldovia Native Corp. Cindy, a long time resident came and gave our group an hour tour around town. It was a delightful day. And it cleared up for our boat ride home!!! 😎✌️

This mama moose is totally nodding, she finally gets comfortable for a nap😍 She has her two twins hanging out with her also. And yes, it is snowing today. Happy Thursday!!!
Some of our local wildlife paid us a visit yesterday morning. We don't usually see this many in such close proximity on the property. Heavy snows in the mountains has driven them down to lower grounds. They can be very aggresive this time of year. They are hungry and tired and the momma is probably getting ready to kick her offspring to the side in preparation for this year's calf. One of these small bulls still has a half-rack. Kind of late for it to be hanging on. The other bull has already shed both of his.
From our families, to all of our past and future guests. ATG would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!!!🎄🎁🎄🎁
