Last Friday, our second community event was held at the Berkeley Warner Recreation Center. Our LEAP team received donations from Costco, Brooklyn Baking Company, and Greg and Lee Ann Neal which allowed us to purchase snacks to hand out to families along with important information regarding the upcoming school year.

Our last event will be held at the WOW NRZ Community Center on August 1st at 4:00 pm.

Every year, Crosby High School must conduct a meeting to discuss the Title 1 Program with families of students participating in programs funded by Title 1 of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

This year's meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 5 - 6:30 p.m. in the Crosby Library Media Center. Learn about ESSA, Title 1, and how they benefit your child. Light refreshments will be served.

Each member of the Crosby High School Class of 2024 will receive one free Gratitude Stole at graduation practice. This stole can be presented to someone who provided you extraordinary help during your educational journey, and the person should be encouraged to wear the Gratitude Stole to graduation

Additional Gratitude Stoles can be purchased for $5 each. Keepsake stoles (2024 and paw prints) are also available for $5 each.

Nineteen juniors were inducted into the Crosby High School National Honor Society at CHS' 53rd NHS Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

We also celebrated our senior members and their independent service projects. Seniors members received their graduation stoles.

The event was hosted by the National Honor Society President, Gabriella Francis, and Vice President, Sophia Coelho.

Congratulations to Sean Mosley, who on Tuesday, February 21, was named the City of Waterbury’s 2024 African-American “Mayor for the Day.” Mr. Mosley’s honor was part of the city’s celebration of Black History Month.

Mr. Mosley is an assistant principal at Crosby High School and the administrator for the Early College High School (ECHS) program. He has worked for Waterbury Public Schools (WPS) since 2008.

The Crosby High School JROTC, marched by Cadet First Sergeant Jeruan Serrano, recently received a base tour hosted by the Connecticut Air National Guard.

Included was a military vehicle simulator, Lockheed Hercules C-130 Aircraft Tour, Palletizing Load Operations, HAZMAT and Security Operations briefings. The highlight was the Lockheed Hercules C-130 Aircraft Tour and static Jet display.

Crosby High School's U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) held a Thanksgiving Food Drive last month to benefit United Way of Greater Waterbury.

Our cadets gained an understanding of need and were inspired to “do their share” in helping to feed local families.
