TedE bear came visiting this afternoon. Dogs chased him up a tree where he still sits. He will probably wait till dark to leave. He has been a frequent visitor this summer.

A great day for lunch along the Creek. Grandkids and their Dad from France and a Bear Lodge Guest. They all met last summer and could not wait to get together this year.

Water, water, and more water. Heavy and long lasting rains has brought water levels of Little Pine Creek up and water lakes are all around camp. We officially open next Monday with a quilting group and then fishermen and more quilters to come. We have some open dates the end of summer and over Labor Day. Why not plan a late summer visit to Pine Village. Hopefully dryer weather to come. .

Funny how things you say quickly come around…I just said the other day, I have not seen a bear this spring. And low and behold, here comes this big guy waltzing though camp. And then tonight 2 young Bear come exploring. Dogs bark spooked them and they took off and then we encounter them them again on our evening walk. I have now seen bears.

It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend at Pine Village and the Pine Creek Valley. Here at Pine Village campers fished, took walks, had camp fires, biked and just relaxed. That is what I am doing now...sitting on my deck at the Barn and watching for some wildlife to wonder by. Funny, I have not seen a bear all spring...well maybe it is because my dogs bark too much. It is so nice to be outside without jackets and just enjoying the mild evening. We hope to see you soon...🥰

This week the Bear Lodge Quilters are here creating wonderful things. They are a fun group and very creative. Many are off quilt shop hop today while others stay behind to keep creating. Love having them here.

We are getting ready for a joyful season at Pine Village. Seasonal campers and the RVs have arrived. Excited to see people and especially on this beautiful day here at Pine Village. The Bear Lodge and Breezeway Cabin officially open next Thursday with guests.

It is time for a Pine Village Update...I am sure many of you are saying about time. Well, we are pretty well snowed in just like many in the Pine Creek Valley area. Snow arrived (all 30” of it) on or around December 18 and has never gone away. But that has not slowed people from making reservations for the upcoming season. We officially open April 15 and once the snow has gone away...we will have a lot of work to get ready for the season. One major project is to install more benches along the creek, new or refurbished fire circle at the Bear Lodge and better seating around the Breezeway camp fire circle. We will continue to work on the walking path around Pine Village. One other accomplishment last fall was restoration of the field between the Creek Cabin and the Bear Lodge. It is now free from stacked lumber piles and has been graded and seeded as of last fall. Hopefully green grass will appear once the snow is gone. We hope you have all stayed well, we have, and anxious to come see us in 2021. More later.
