When our family counts its blessings, we count to 100. Our mom, Amelita Roth, celebrated a century of living this past weekend surrounded by loved ones, including most of her 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Thank you to the Town of Amherst for presenting a proclamation and for the many thoughtful gifts, flowers, cards and phone calls from our cousins, neighbors and friends. Abe Lincoln said, “It’s not the years in the life, it’s the life in the years.”
With boundless energy, strength, unconditional love, laughter, family and faith, Amelita has packed a lot of life in her years. “This is the best 100th birthday I ever had,” she smiled. Her advice is simple: all things in moderation, enjoy today and don’t worry so much.

Cruised through the most incredible 5-day stretch of weather in memory: sunshine, 80 degrees and barely any wind! Hosted groups from NJ, Ohio, Utica, Elmira and my cousin Dave and wife Cheryl from Buffalo.
