🌟 The Windmill Farm and Craft Market has worked tirelessly to improve the property, including a new building of shops constructed during the off-season in 2023🌟

Crowds at the market have steadily increased yearly, with many visitors staying in the area for several nights. Because of steady marketing efforts, the demographic of visitors has changed as well. Younger people can be seen each week, as well as people from all ethnicities and walks of life 😁👏

During the pandemic, Steve Wilson, Director of Operations, was able to keep the Windmill open for the entire season by doing his research and keeping in contact with local and state officials. Steve Wilson has increased the net profit of the market exponentially since becoming the Director of Operations at The Windmill in 2016 and is truly an example of Resiliency in Business 🌠🎊

Despite being short-staffed due to the pandemic, and with those effects still lingering, the staff remained committed to offering support and services to individuals. This meant often risking their own health and safety. Throughout the pandemic, the Arc of Chemung-Schuyler's services remained open and operational💪📋

🌟Hop Notch Brewing Co. opened its doors in September 2022 and has been a fantastic addition to the Schuyler County community. Built in a historic barn, Hop Notch allows people to gather and connect over delicious brews and pizza.🍕🍻

Owner Jeff Klossner has cultivated an inviting environment by facilitating events like "Yappy Hour", Trivia Night, and co****le tournaments. The entire staff at Hop Notch makes sure that everyone is taken care of. 🥰

Their ability to create an informal collaborative space is truly remarkable. Also, it doesn't hurt that they have Brewski the dog on board as the official "Manager and Ambassador of Joy." 🐶

Established in 1987, the Humane Society of Schuyler County operates as a limited admission, no-kill shelter, serving as the primary animal welfare organization in the community. During the pandemic, the organization faced challenges such as shutting down their low-cost spay/neuter clinics, halting their volunteer program, and experiencing fundraising setbacks. Despite these obstacles, they continued to serve the people and animals of this community as best they could.

Once pandemic restrictions lifted, the Humane Society took proactive steps, resuming low-cost spay/neuter clinics on a weekly basis, actively recruiting volunteers, and intensifying efforts to take in as many abandoned animals as possible. The upgraded facility, following a recent consolidation and renovation project, is now equipped with essential amenities and can accommodate 24 dogs and 45 cats. The organization's overarching mission remains steadfast; they are dedicated to eliminating pet overpopulation, preventing cruelty, ensuring high-quality care for homeless animals, promoting responsible pet ownership, and fostering humane principles in collaboration with the community and various organizations.

Its log cabin-style main lodge, restaurant, bar, and motel are an iconic and essential part of our community. Classic motorsports memorabilia, which can be viewed at the Lodge, is open for anyone to admire. Today, the Brubaker family continues to steer the ship with care and pride, overseeing every aspect of Seneca Lodge and even opening a microbrewery on site.
