Her insurance coverage is very limited. She needs to heal now and not worry about the many thousands of dollars needed to pay for her extended hospital stay, complex surgery, and her cancer treatment. Please consider donating any amount to help!

November is a grand time to visit Yosemite National Park. Crisp mornings and cool evenings, sunny days, chromatic views, and the chance of first snow all paint your next perfect travel picture. It is the least crowded time to visit the park, which means quieter and more intimate outdoor adventures. Plus, you can catch a last glimpse of Glacier Point, Tuolumne Meadows and Mariposa Grove before the corresponding roads close for the season. We’ve come up with eight reasons your visit to Yosemite should be in the few remaining weeks of November. And remember to pack layers and tire chains, just in case! More info in the comments below!

Last month the Mariposa Trails team held a planning session in one of our cabins at The Redwoods to strategize the promotion of trail tending, enabling adventure, advancing education and advocacy for trails. Mariposa Trails tending stewardship program, for example, brings individuals together and introduces them to the joy of working in comradery towards a common goal. Their work is focused on national public lands located between Yosemite National Park and the population centers of Mariposa County. Mariposa Trails is rallying volunteers to tend front-country trails and promoting their use by hikers, back-packers, bikers, runners and equestrians. To sign up for a recreational hike or become a steward of the lands that nourish your spirit, one can participate in an outing between the months of October through April, and sign up online. More information is available below in the comments. Thank you Mariposa Trails!
