After install a temporary shim under the saddle on this old Gibson LG-3 to test the action/feel, the owner wanted a more permanent fix. Since I didn’t have the right length blank to make fit, I did the next best thing and grabbed a long scrap of bone I had saved ( hoarder much?), glued it to the bottom of the original saddle ( which I had previously compensated for intonation) and sanded that down to size/height. It’s not perfect, but neither is the well loved guitar, so I didn’t feel too much guilt, it worked perfectly, it will eventually age/blend in color over time, and the owner is happy. Win/win.
