These specially equipped planes are designed to fly into nature's most powerful storms gathering information that is critical to forecasting the storms movement. Come check it out!

The Wells Beach Cleanup happens tomorrow, Saturday April 27th. It’s going to be a gorgeous day. Poland Spring Natural Spring Water has graciously donated bottled waters to our event along with Congdon's Doughnuts and Hannaford Supermarkets who are donating delicious donuts and treats. LitterPic Inc. is donating 100 free safety vests to first come, first serve.

We have a large number of people who have registered for this event. Please plan on arriving 15-20 mins early for parking, gathering of supplies, and treat tasting before the meeting at 113 Sanford Rd begins at 10am. We strongly encourage everyone to carpool if you are coming with a group of people.

🚨 UPDATE🚨

The Wells Buoy is staying! Thanks to all those who wrote in to the Coast Guard. The information for the buoy removal from the beach below remains the same.

The Wells Safe Water Buoy will be retrieved from Wells Beach on Monday, April 22nd at 11:00 am. The buoy will be towed away by the Coast Guard, and we are asking for the public to be mindful of keeping a respectful distance to allow for the operations to safely take place. An officer will be present to ensure safety.

The Coast Guard does not intend to return the buoy to its original location, and has plans in place to remove certain navigational aids, with the bell buoy being one of them. The Coast Guard is looking for input about the removal of these navigational aids. If you would like to voice your opinion on putting the Wells Safe Water Buoy back on station as well as other aids to navigation, we urge you to write to the Coast Guard by emailing [email protected]
