One of my all-time favorite wines is Tempranillo grand reserve from Rioja. One of the best part about my “job” is I have to try them, learn about them and share them with others. I love how these wines are not that expensive for the quality. One of the main reason I think Spain is overlooked for their wine. Bodegas Lan Grand Reserve 2016 Tempranillo is tasting amazing!

Do you ever see these Cross Keys on souther Rhône wine bottles and wonder what they mean?

The trademark emblem of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines is the papal coat of arms of the city of Avignon: two crossed keys, that of Saint Peter. The presence of this emblem guarantees the authenticity and quality of the wine, and any wine not up to standard is refused the right to the appellation.

Wonderful time in Prosser checking out several different wineries in the area. The 2018 reserve Syrah from 14 hands was delicious and a red sparkling from Tirriddis was spectacular! We finished our tour with Goose Ridge and Rhett loved to run around the fields and throw the Bocce balls in the gravel. Oso was very scared of the cows.

Happy international Malbec day! Fun fact; Malbec is originally a French grape varietal and made its way to Argentina around the1500s. Argentina became famous for Malbec in the early 1990s when it made its debut in Wine Spectator. Cheers to Malbec!

What do we do when we travel? We go on wine tours!!! My wife and I LOVE to experience culture, food and to follow our passions. I have learned so much on our trip to souther Spain! The tapas, pintxos, Jamón ibérico, vino tinto, Cava and the people. We have made some memorable experiences and have been treated like family. I have so many new ideas and “mouth magic” to show our guests. I’m so energized to return and make NCW Wine Tours the best wine tour.
