We've taken many people to see the Whale Tails right off the Randolph exit of I-89.

There are two sculptures of whale tails in Vermont, both carved by Jim Sardonis. This older set is actually titled Reverence and was carved in 1989. It was originally sited in Randolph, Vermont but later moved to South Burlington. Sardonis says they were carved to symbolize the fragility of our planet.

Many people wonder how a large marine mammal like whales fit into Vermont’s landlocked landscape but whales were actually here in our prehistoric seas and remains of a beluga whale were found near Lake Champlain.

Either way, many people enjoy the sight of stone whales diving into the green hills. This set is readily visible from I-89 south of Burlington. The newer set, Whale Dance is located in Randolph at the original site of Reverence.

10 years ago today, Capital Car Service VT (fka Capital Cab & Car Service) had our grand opening in Montpelier. Over the past ten years we've had six different vehicles and traveled thousands of miles including over 2000 trips to Burlington International Airport, 515+ trips to Boston's Logan Airport and 367 trips to New York City! Today we want to thank our customers for their business, our friends for their support and local business partners who have helped our company grow. Here's to ten more years!

Our Story

Capital Car Service VT specializes in long distance travel with trips originating or terminating within 20 miles of Vermont’s Capital District. Trips can be scheduled in advance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for based on your needs. We also do our best to serve those with last minute transportation needs.

Business or personal travelers to/from any of the airports in the Northeastern United States represent the bulk of our travel. Our customers also include Attorneys, hospitals and Universities for trips they arrange for faculty and/or students. We pride ourselves on a high level of customer service. Our Black Honda Odyssey mini-van and White Toyota Avalon Limited are clean, comfortable and well maintained. We even have heated seats for Vermont’s inevitable winter travel!

We are available for fall foliage sightseeing tours and wedding transportation. We have transported clients to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, the head of the Long Trail, Canada, resort locations across Vermont and on impromptu brewery tours. Tell us where you need to go, or what you would like to see while visiting our beautiful state, and we’ll do our best to get you there!
