NEW AT THE ZOO! 🎉🎉🎉

We are excited to announce the birth of a baby ring-tailed lemur to Felana and Darwin! This is the couple's first baby and it was born on March 13th. For the first couple weeks, the baby will hold tight to mom's chest, spending its time nursing and napping. Over the next few weeks, it will start moving to mom's back, and then explore on its own!

On warm days, the lemurs can be viewed in their yard, so stop by to see if you can spot this tiny new addition! ☀️

We’ve talked about the one-of-a-kind paint scheme of each lighthouse known as its "daymark" but did you know that every flash pattern is also unique? Intended to allow mariners at sea to identify their location easily during the night, the flash pattern is known as the Lighthouse's "characteristic." Here in Cape May, the light is visible 24 miles out to sea and flashes every 15 seconds.

Hey y’all 👋🏻 **long post**
After a lot of debate, consideration, lines out the door we are going back to closing Tuesdays. I’m sure you have heard it before, it seems the new “norm” here in Cape May wether it is staffing, mental health etc and you are finding yourself disappointed in our local spots. I mean we wait all winter to really enjoy our town, yet something is happening this year something unexpected. You may be wondering what it is exactly that is changing in our sleepy town other than the “normal” summer crazies. Well whatever you have heard it’s all true! A combination of those things anyway! We are busier than ever, new tourist, old tourist, locals feeling confident and vaccinated. The disarray and confusion of this past year has left us all in a bit of a fog. Psychologists are now coining the term “COVID brain” it is a point in history, a change, a development. And as with any change humans are adapting but we need space to do so. It is confusing the changes that are unfolding before us as people reprioritize their lives to their own individual needs. For us that is family, baby barista, that is nourishing our minds as well as our bodies and continuing to bring to you things we love. Wether it’s books, sandwiches, coffee, art, music, poetry, debates, Anastasias welcoming smile and compliments 🤪 we want to keep bringing it for you everyday 110% And while we know ourselves to be very capable of seven days a week this summer, of “pushing” though, or enduring, we must reevaluate for ourselves if that is the way life should be for us. We value our business, our relationships, personal and those that we have built with all of you in bringing a quality product and person to you everyday. While we are overjoyed by the love and support those lines out the door ( I mean who could have imagined this for us 4 years ago?? Not us!)have given us, we also find ourselves overwhelmed! It is our sincere hope that we all continue to be patient and loving with one another while we figure out what is best in this new world we are creating. Hopefully it will be a world filled with more love and acceptance for all. **continued in the comments**
