It's SUMMER = Hurricane Season!

🌀 Hurricane Debby is making landfall in FL and causing thousands of flight delays and cancellations, and rerouting cruises. These inconveniences will be felt all over this week as the storm continues up the East Coast, affecting many major airports.

Be patient if travelling, and stay on top of any delays with your airline, train or cruise line. Having a travel agent help on your behalf also helps ease the stress of unexpected interruptions! And having travel insurance to cover the unplanned expenses that can come with travel weather delays is so important!

LOTS of delays, cancellations, and interruptions today! Flights - airlines - airports - cruise lines - trains - banks - hospitals - broadcast networks - etc etc

BE PATIENT today - as getting angry or emotional will not help you or the person you're trying to get help from. Everyone is dealing with this IT outage and working hard to get it resolved, but the ripple effect will be felt for a while.

Travel Insurance comes in handy in situations like this - to help rearrange, reimburse and recover what you can of any planned travel.

This is not good. The strongest 🌀 Cat 5 in July in the Atlantic ever. It is so early for a strong storm, because waters are warmer than normal, and I'm afraid we'll see a busy season this year.

Due to the bridge collapse in Baltimore, MD, the port is closed until further notice. This port welcomes upwards of half a million travelers for cruises each year, and is a major hub for commerce on the East coast.

If you have cruise plans on Carnival or Royal Caribbean out of Baltimore, check your email for updates of port locations. Carnival is now using Norfolk, VA as their port and will bus travelers to/from Baltimore.

📰 It's been a crazy week for the travel biz! TWO major suppliers have abruptly closed their doors - American Queen Voyages, which operated many US river cruises, and GoGo Vacations, another great supplier of worldwide travel.

THIS is why using a travel advisor is so important! Sure, you can navigate unexpected and unfortunate events, but wouldn't it be great if someone else helped you? And what if something like this happened right before or even during your travels? Yikes! I get asked frequently, 'why should I use a travel advisor?'

It's a valid question! In today's age, you can google and plan vacations online with ease. Even AI can help you. But that's all you'll get - a booking with some canned details.

Commissions are built into all travel costs, regardless if you booked direct, online or through a 3rd party. Yes, it's true and most people don't realize that.

So if you're already paying a commission, why not get the most for it? A travel advisor will provide so many benefits that it really is crazy to think someone would choose to NOT use one!
