Kegs and Corks to Kick Cancer Returns for Second Year
Beer, Wine & Food Truck Festival to help local friends fighting cancer.
Downtown Madison, NC | Saturday, May 20th | 12:00-7:00 p.m.

One of the Triad’s largest beer, wine and food truck festivals is returning again this year! In less than three weeks, The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund will host their 2nd Annual Kegs and Corks to Kick Cancer festival. Every cent raised will go toward helping local cancer patients. The festival will be bigger this year with an impressive line-up of vendors from across North Carolina.

More than 20 breweries and wineries, from Durham, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Salisbury, Mt. Airy and beyond will offer exclusive tasting experiences. Plus, there will be a great variety of food trucks too!

Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased online at: Kegs and Corks – Barry L. Joyce Cancer Fund (bljcancerfund.org).

The first 500 to purchase tickets online will receive a commemorative tasting glass.

Tickets may be purchased at the festival for $25.

The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund was established in 2001 to assist Rockingham County cancer patients and their families financially. After his cancer diagnosis, Barry Joyce had a vision of helping those that lacked resources so that they could focus more of their energy on beating the cancer.

“No one should have to choose between keeping their family warm during the winter or getting to their next radiation appointment; feeding their family or filling their next cancer prescription. Thanks to our Fund, fewer people have to make these choices,” said Jennifer Joyce, executive director of the Barry L. Joyce Cancer Support Fund.

In November 2013, The Barry Joyce Cancer Resource Center opened in Madison and allows for additional emotional and educational support. The Center’s happenings range from support groups, weekly chats, monthly meal boxes, a monthly drive-up dinner, daycations and so much more.

The Fund assists with every type of cancer. Since the opening of the Center, more than 16,000 have benefitted from our programs. We are the only agency to service all of Rockingham County and not receive funding from the government or United Way. Ninety-five percent of every donation goes directly to funding our programs. The community’s support is crucial.
