My happy place is Andy’s
Andy’s is named after my brother who has loved to fish since he was old enough to walk and talk. He literally grew up with a fishing pole in his hands. This is not a “fish tale” -> About one-half of his childhood photos are of him in his Snoopy life jacket standing or sitting next to the water holding one of the following: bait, pole, net, fish.
This is my Happy Place!
A cool place to escape on the hot weekends of the summer. A place to forget about your daily To Do list and all your chores. A colorful autumn retreat during the changing of the tree leaves from green to red, orange, yellow and all the shades in between. Walk to the end of the driveway to test your fishing skills against the famous rainbow trout. There are some local fishing guides that excel at providing wonderful day trip. Explore around the quaint towns like West Jefferson, Sparta and Lansing then head back to the house and light up the fire pit and stare up at the Milky Way. Hop on the Blueridge Parkway with your windows wide open and leave it all behind for a moment or two.
From Andy’s to the start of the Virginia’s Creeper Trail in Whitetop is a short 20 minute drive. This is a favorite on many travel lists for family fun and a unique adventure. A 17 mile gentle downhill slope mostly shaded and passing by many beautiful streams.
