TIP - We LOVE Waitlists!!
WorldMark has really upped their waitlist game!
1. Each WorldMark ownership can have up to four waitlist requests at time.
2. You can submit a waitlist request by checking resort availability and clicking on “Join the Waitlist” if it isn’t available. When a match is found, WorldMark will email you and you have 48 hours to accept or decline.
Here is the upgraded part:
3. Now there is a “Vacations and Waitlist” tab on the drop down on the left of your Account Dashboard
or from anywhere on the website you can click “My account” in the upper right hand corner and select “Vacations and Waitlist”
4. Here you will see your active waitlist requests. You can delete a request by clicking “cancel request.”
5. When a waitlist match becomes available, you can either click the link in the email to book or go to this page on your account to book and/or you can add or remove days from your request before reserving. You can also call WorldMark to book it.
6. I’ve had lots of success with waitlists. I have clients who use them very successfully also. It is a wonderful way to get the reservations you want because when someone cancels, it goes straight to the waitlist queue. Happy vacationing!

As my kids are getting older, memories are more precious to me than things. I just got back from Puerto Rico with my two youngest kids. There isn't a WorldMark in Puerto Rico so I paid $1200 for a week in a one bedroom condo, which is more than I pay in MF for a one bedroom condo for a week with WorldMark. We had an amazing time and made so many great memories including swimming in a pool at the base of a waterfall and kayaking through a bioluminescent bay! The value of my WorldMark for my family goes up every year as hotel prices keep rising. The value of staying in a condo with a kitchen and bedrooms and a great pool and recreation area. Many are beachfront (my favorite) or nestled in the mountains or by a lake. While I'm not always happy with WorldMark as a company, I am really happy with the resorts and locations and memories I am making with my family by being an owner.

TIP - One common complaint about the new website is that there isn't a four month calendar to search availability at resorts. Well . . . there is one. It is even color coded by how many rooms are available. It is just harder to find.
Here is how to find it:
1. Login to your WorldMark account
2. From your account dashboard, click on the horizontal lines in the top left corner.
3. Click on "resorts"
4. Go to "Location or Resort" and search by state or by resort
5. When you see the resort below the search window, don't type in the dates...
6. Instead click on "view monthly availability and waitlist" below the resort name
7. Click on "Select suite type" and scroll through calendar

TIP - Owner Care - The superheroes of WorldMark customer service!
Most of the time when you call WorldMark's Customer Service Department, you get agents with questionable knowledge and they have no authority to make exceptions. They just parrot back the rules. Well, let me tell you, Owner Care is different. If you need higher level customer service then call the WorldMark Vacation Planning Department (1-800-457-0103) and then ask to be transferred to Owner Care (there is no direct number). I've heard of them refunding credits after the "cancel by" date if there is a good reason. They can make decisions about exceptions or can call you back if they need authorization. They aren't perfect but they are much more experienced than your typical customer service agent. Hope that helps! Have a great day!

TIP - What is Travel + Leisure and TravelUp?

One of my clients asked me to explain Travel + Leisure and TravelUp.

Basically, Wyndham destinations purchased the brand Travel + Leisure Co. for 100 million dollars in 2021. Travel + Leisure is a well-respected high-end travel brand and magazine and has a portfolio of nearly 20 resorts and a travel club. On the WorldMark website, it says "This transition to Travel + Leisure Co. as the parent company over Wyndham Destinations will not directly affect WorldMark by Wyndham or its products or club offerings. You will continue to enjoy your beautiful timeshare properties and exceptional benefits. This news does not impact any current contracts, and we do not anticipate any changes to our services."

However, one change they are offering is called "TravelUp." Of course, this is not free. You have to buy at least 5,000 annual credits to be enrolled. Travelup (Worldmark by Wyndham Owners (travelupbytravelandleisure.com)) is a travel reservation site that gives you access to flights, car rentals, hotels/resorts and cruises. They promise huge % discounts but don't deliver.

According to an owner of TravelUp, "It would be worth it if it really did take off a % of the cost of whatever you're trying to buy, like 40% was the promise for Platinum owners. But I haven't found that to be the case...not even close. It is sometimes cheaper than what you find on other sites like Expedia, but most of the time not. It's not worth it to purchase credits to get access to TU, so don't think you're missing out by not getting it."

I also saw a discussion on a Facebook WorldMark group from an owner that bought in to get TravelUp and they were extremely disappointed and were trying to get a refund.

So the bottom line, as always, is DON'T buy anything from the developer. Always buy on the resale market!

FAX time sounds like old technology, but it isn’t!!

FAX time can be useful if you don't have enough credits for a reservation. However it is very expensive. If you have the time, a better option is to buy "one time use" credits from our company to complete your reservations.

FAX Time Reservation requirements

Reservations must not exceed 14 consecutive nights.

Reservations must not consume more than 10% of the total suites at a resort.

Cost for FAX time is 13 cents per credit (without TravelShare)

$80 nightly minimum applies.

You may use a combination of credits and FAX Time for a reservation.

Housekeeping charges are included in the FAX Time cost and will not be billed separately.

If you do not have enough credits for a reservation, a combination of credits and Affiliate Rental may be used at $0.15 per credit to complete the reservation.

Reservations booked through RCI and II that exceed your available credit balance will utilize Affiliate Rental at $0.15 per credit to complete the reservation.

Seaside Oregon WorldMark!!!

Just got back from a week stay at WorldMark Seaside, OR. It was amazing!! We went to Norma’s for clam chowder and fish and chips almost everyday. Drove to Tillamook and the Aviation museum nearby in a huge hanger. Played sand volleyball and built a fire on the beach a couple of nights (tip- buy lighter fluid). 😂 It was so fun!! Most of us bought Seaside hoodies there. Weather is cooler. Played bingo at the resort. You need to sign up before you get there. It was free and it fills up fast!
