A few weeks ago, my company had the privilege of being invited to Baja Expeditions' luxury tented camp on the shores of San Ignacio Lagoon, BCS, MX.
The whole experience is quite unbelievable starting with a private charter out of San Jose del Cabo (incredibly beautiful 2 hour flight) and ending with the opportunity to pet the friendly gray whales that migrate to the lagoons to mate and have their babies.
The camp has several different tent styles (mine was the luxury tent), a dining tent and a bar tent (that doubles as the place they hold nightly lectures).
The service was phenomenal, the food was outstanding (three-course lunches and four-course dinners) and the experience of a gigantic whale swimming right up to the side of the panga for a scratch is absolutely indescribable.
