🎡California Dreamin' 🌴

Our longest family vacation that was a mix of work and fun for me but ALLLLLLL fun for Grace and Mike (and I wouldn't have it any other way).

This was Grace's first time to Disneyland and Mike hadn't been since 2012 when we went together for our first visit. I left my content creator hat at home and was in full mom mode. Selfies galore and core memories created.

Don't worry - I still put on my travel agent hat and tested out a few strategies too. I have sent countless families to Disneyland but it was great to see that my recommendations still held true and I was able to test out a few new ones too.

What's something you've been proud of lately?

For me, it's the Inaugural Conference that I helped coordinate at Disneyland last week with the amazing DVMoms admin team.

Two years ago when I was asked to help with this conference I thought "that's a great opportunity for me as a travel agent to expand my business and also help a community that I'm a part of".

Needless to say it was SO much more.

Yes, it has helped my business - 300ish DVMoms attended and most stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for the 3 day conference with many extending their stays to include family time in the parks. I worked with so many DVMoms, helping them navigate the parks and maximize their stays. I created a fully branded Disneyland Parks guide for the conference that has MY name and on it. I'm immensely proud of the work that went into all of that.

I'm even prouder of what this conference was doing. From the unique and novel ways that seminars were presented - from playing games to learn concepts and painting the brain while we learned about brain mapping to making our conference bags a template for embroidery that could keep our hands busy and help us absorb traditional lectures better. I can personally attest to the fact that I WILLINGLY stayed in lectures until 6 PM....while at DISNEYLAND 🤯. Not to mention the fact that there was an easily accessible childcare option for attendees to utilize that the kids LOVED and it allowed moms to then enjoy time at Disneyland with their families after the conference. This conference was making changes to the industry that can only help us.

On a personal level I've grappled with how to still incorporate veterinary medicine into my life since leaving clinical practice. Even though clinical practice isn't the right place for me during this chapter of life I experienced so much fulfillment helping these veterinary families have meaningful family experiences through travel. This conference opened up my eyes to the idea of creating more opportunities for DVMoms to travel together, with or without our families, and fill back up our cups 💕

🥂 Cheers to 1 Million 🥂

Right before we left for our cruise I hit ONE MILLION dollars in lifetime travel volume (ie, clients that booked AND traveled)!

My path took some time and I admit that I would sometimes get frustrated and discouraged when others bypassed my numbers..but that's the beauty of it. It's MY path and what was meant to happen did exactly that.

My travel business had just started to really take off when the pandemic hit (ooof!). I was still in the clinic and reached a spot where I couldn't grow any further because I just didn't have the time. Left the clinic and allowed myself to fully expand....and here we are.

One. MILLION. 🤯

THANK YOU for trusting me with your precious vacation memories. I cherish every text, social media tag, photo and thank you card that comes my way. This career isn't one that I ever imagined for myself but yet has brought me so much joy.

The crazy part? This is just the beginning 💕

I only have one request for Mothers Day each year - to recreate this photo that we took on Grace's first trip to Walt Disney World (to Epcot of course!).

This year was special because it was 7 years to the day from when we did the first photo and we even had our friends visiting from Maryland that were there for the first photo as well.

Happy Mother's Day to all of my fellow mothers and those that are mothers in their heart ❤️

Who is your favorite Pixar character (and why is it Dug)?

I'm so excited to be heading to Disneyland Resort for a Social Media FAM trip for Believe Vacations! What's a FAM trip you might ask? FAM is short for familiarization and agents take these trips to learn about locations so that we can better serve our clients from booking to bon voyage.

This trip is a little different because it's going to focus on social media and as Marketing Manager for Believe I'll be helping agents sharpen their social media skills. From gathering content in the parks, making sure that they get all of the photos and videos that they need and even helping with content creation.

This trip comes at the perfect time - Pixar Fest just started and Season of the Force is still in full swing! It's going to be amazing!
So much material for great content!

🌺 'Ohana means family, and family means nobody is left behind or forgotten 🌺

This weekend won't be one I'll be forgetting anytime soon and has left an imprint on my heart.

I was introduced to some of the most amazing and lovely members of the AWD community and guiding for
and Miss Violet is an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.

My first challenge - and LORD what a challenge it was. The heat. The four mornings of 2 am wakeups. The difficulty recovering between races and figuring out what worked and didn't.

I almost stopped with Tiffany when she withdrew herself from the race due to an injured knee. I had signed up to guide her and I wanted to see it through. She took the guide bib off of my back and I told myself to just go as far as I could with the time I had left.

Somehow I had enough time and finished. The amount of times I got choked up in the last two miles when I realized that I wasn't going to get swept and I had DONE IT.

runDisney is always way more than just a medal and this weekend was no different. New friendships were made, old friendships were strengthened and your cup is slowly refilled (even though your physical cup is drained).

I won't be doing another challenge for a while - that was brutal! But this weekend has earned its spot in my heart 🌺

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is in 🌺 FULL bloom! 🌺

There's over two months left in the festival and it just keeps getting better and better! My favorite month to visit is definitely April - the flowers are gorgeous and have filled out and the weather is PERFECT!

There's still time to visit my favorite festival! I love planning last minute trips for my clients because the countdown goes by so quickly and the excitement is next level. Some of my favorite trips have been last minute surprises!

Happy Pi Day!!

🏅 Medal Monday 🏅

Find yourself a group of hype ladies like these 3 💕

Believe it or not, this is the first race weekend that I've done medal photos. Sure, I've taken a random photo with my medal but this is the first that I've done full on "look at what I did!" photos.

This race hit a little differently and has me SO excited for Springtime Surprise and my first challenge. You best believe that I'll be taking ALL the medal photos with that stack of medals!

Redemption Run Complete ✔️

I fully admit that I was VERY anxious going into this race. I had been sick with a sinus issue and mild bronchitis for the days leading up to the race and if I'm being really honest flashbacks of having to pull myself from the Wine and Dine 10K mid race due to illness.

Little by little I regained my confidence - I was placed in corral B, I could somewhat breathe this morning, I was looking cute in my Princess Scout uniform and it was a great morning for a race.

The instant I entered Hollywood Studios (I had pulled myself right before that during Wine and Dine) I knew I had this.

This medal means SO much more than the rest because it was just as much of a mental achievement as it was a physical one.

(Room) size does matter!

When booking a room at Walt Disney World remember that there's a big difference amongst the different classes of resorts!

This size difference is especially noticeable when you're trying to fit a crib or pack and play in a room or if you have older kids or adults traveling together! When recommending different tools for my clients I aim to take this into consideration along with your budget and personal preferences so that we find the perfect resort for your vacation.
