Enjoy a summer walk, talk, and tour of Jan Powers’ garden and grounds. Learn the history of the Moss Avenue house and its gardens, and enjoy this popular author-illustrator’s reflections and sketches from a gardening life. Lavender lemonade, iced herbal teas, and scones will be served, and a guest artist will be live painting in the garden. Preregistration is required (suggested donation: $25) and space is limited. There is no Market on Moss this year on the spring calendar. No deadlines for me, or frantic spiffing up the garden. But lo and behold - the garden is showing me I am not needed. It is looking it's best after all! All by itself

Breaking News! To use a much-maligned and overused phrase! Spring looks a little different here where I am, in South Florida, AND it is going to look VERY different at Stone Well Gardens this year also. The tradition of Market on Moss has been reappearing for over ten years, but not this year, 2024. The garden and the gardeners are taking a break and looking forward to spending quality time together with no deadlines and no stress. Well, maybe a little stress, it is a garden after all!. We will be spiffing up many much-needed corners of our garden and trying out some new creative adventures

Wishing everyone a friend to walk with through 2024 and someone to bring you flowers through the year. These two children are carrying flowers to my father’s grave far away. The people in the Netherlands have been doing this since 1945. They remember. The image speaks to me in many ways, and I see it as reminder to walk from one year into another looking ahead but also remembering how we got here and who helped us along the way. # Netherlandsamericancemetery 🌹 .

It has been said that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and while that may be true sometimes, I admit that a book cover can sometimes catch my attention.
