Well, we’ve got an incredible team this season and the bar was set high for Neil Amundson. We had heard fantastic things about his work on the Sacramento River and Jeremy has been putting a lot of time into coaching Neil for guiding on the Big Pond. Thankfully great weather teamed up with great fishing só Neil has had a very warm welcome these couple of days!
FREE CAMPING ON PYRAMID LAKE - a special offer for March/April guided tripsThe best offer our guide service has ever had is here! Last year Jeremy and Rob discussed how great it is to camp right on the beach. But what if you don’t have a trailer or an RV, or you’re coming from the other side of the country for the biggest cutthroat trout in the world? Well, we went ahead and bought and reformed two utility trailers that we now have available for rent at $250 a night. Except booking a guide trip for March/April you’re getting the trailer for free! That means you’ll be able to camp on the beach, experience Pyramid Lake at its best, enjoy meals made on Traeger grill, be the first one on water when the light breaks and last one out of the water at the end of the day. How does it get any better?Book your guided trip now and enjoy this offer: 775-742-17-54 [email protected] #pyramidlakeflyfishing #pyramidlake #flyfishing #nevada

Pyramid opens tomorrow, we still have some early season dates available. We are going to catch a bunch of big fish in the next couple weeks. We really want you to be holding the rod when it happens. We have two outings October 6-8 (sold out) and October 13-15 and still a few open dates on our guide calendar. If you want to catch the largest trout of your life, call us and get up here while the fish are biting.
Any day on the lake is a great day. Especially when we can share it with our good friends. The folks of the Peninsula fly fishers were blessed with some good fishing and the weather was better than expected. This is the 13th year hosting this group. They always show up with a smile and ready to catch some fish. It is always nice when we are able to put some big fish in the net as well. On the menu for this group as the snow melts off the Traeger is pulled pork carnitas which is a client favorite at the lake.
We are well into our spring Pyramid season and old man winter keeps hanging on. Even the fish are ready for some warmer weather, and it appears it is heading our way. April continues to impress with fish showing up in the shallows more and more every day. The rest of the season is going to be awesome.
We still have two weekend outings coming up this season.
April 15-16 two day shore beginner clinic/outing
June 10-11 2 ½ day float tube outing (not for beginning fly fisherman)

Thanks again to the Peninsula Fly Fishers for another great outing with Pyramid Lake Fly Fishing and Bucket List Fly Fishing.
Well done, Evan! A casual visit to Pyramid Lake on a Monday afternoon that ended up with a personal best!
A great place to forget work exists.
Pyramid Lake is warming up, finally! Shoutout to our guides Jeremy and Steve who did a fabulous job today!
Fishing on Pyramid be like…
So, this morning the wind was blowing in one direction taking all the cloud cover across the lake, then a blizzard came down and then it was blue skies and sunblock all over our faces. Lots of fish, big fish and a nice group of people, how much better can it get?

Toads are taking over!
These are images from the last season, but this year it started early! Huge Lahontan cutthroat trout is taking over Pyramid Lake! Are you a beginner? Well, we have it all together for you: ladders, flies, guides and even lunch by Traeger Grills! Here’s what we got for the next clinic:
“We hope everyone is enjoying the fantastic weather we are having this fall. The fishing in the Reno-Tahoe area has been great including Pyramid Lake since the opener. We just finished our annual fall Float Tube Outing, and it was a blast.
Our first beginner clinic is scheduled for November 11-12. It is a shore outing that focuses on fishing the lake anytime of year from the shore. Ladders are standard equipment and are included in this outing. The two-day outing will focus on teaching everything you need to know to fish Pyramid Lake from Rigging, fly patterns, time of year, locations, etc.…
We will spend two days fishing the lake and using proven techniques our guides use all year with our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend two days with our guides at a much-reduced rate. The two-day outing is only $295 and includes ladders, some gear and hot Barbque lunches curtesy of Traeger Grills, one of our sponsors.
For more information see our website page dedicated to the clinic or send us an email or give us a call to sign up or ask questions to one of our experienced guides.

Hey folks, our first outing of the season at Pyramid is sold out. We look forward to posting some pics soon and sharing our success with everyone. We have been doing our early season float tube outing for 10 years now. It is one of the highlights of the year and usually produces some really big fish. The techniques we use in early season are way different from the rest of the year.
Our next two events at the lake are coming up soon. If you are interested in joining us, please let us know.
November 12-13 we will be doing a fall season Beginner clinic at the lake. This is a true clinic style outing geared toward helping newer Pyramid Lake anglers learn the basics of fishing the lake. We spend two full days on the water with our guests’ teaching techniques, casting, rigging and fly patterns to use.

December 3-4 is our next public Outing. Tailored after our very popular private outings, this outing is a true fishing and eating adventure. Spend two days on the water with our guides fishing and catching the amazing Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. Early winter is a great time to be at the lake and some real giants start to show up in shallow water in search of food. We do over 30 of these outings a year and it is truly our specialty. See the link below to sign up or more info.

Our two-day clinics and outings are great ways to spend time on the water with our guide team and enjoy a day at a discounted rate all while receiving the same attention and care of a private guided trip. We hope you will join us for a couple days on the water this season.
