“Ole Ole Polka Evening.
Last night something amazing happen in my life. I was hired to perform first time at special “Ole Ole” themed Birthday Party in Fort Lauderdale. Never happen before!!! It was a huge milestone in the life of big fan of my Polka King movie. Everything on the tables, from dishes and napkins to wine glasses and centerpieces, had Ole Ole signatures. The sight and sound of everyone in the room singing along with me shall never be forgotten. It was overwhelming. Even bartender singing away. Great way to celebrate Gene’s 65th birthday! I’m totally impressed with my friend Jan Lewan Lewandowski (The Polka King) who is leaving today for Poland with medical supplies for the people of Ukraine. Most of the supplies were donated by the parents of his piano students and friends. We wish him luck and a safe return home. God speed Janek.

2022 THE POLKA KING ON NETFLIX - Four years ago today, the unthinkable happened! The Polka King movie was released on Netflix. It was January 12, 2018. This was a rare honor for the polka field, and polka music in general thanks to Polish-born immigrant Jan Lewandowski (Lewan) who's life story is portrayed in the blockbuster movie.
Netflix has put out a ton of movies at this point, and while some didn’t make it very far, others ran for a long time. Amazingly “The Polka King” is still running on Netflix. It is totally accessible to everyone with a click of the remote.
Although the movie was released on Netflix on January 12, 2018, it premiered a year earlier at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2017. The film stars Jack Black as Jan Lewan, as well as Jenny Slate, Jason Schwartzman, and Jacki Weaver.
I want to add a note here that when I got the chance to talk with Jack Black personally on the set for the movie in Rhode Island, he jokingly pointed out to me the fun he was having playing Jan Lewan and that he always knew he had polka in his blood.
Television ratings for The Polka King will only grow higher in 2022, as the movie continues its astonishing run on Netflix. Every click of the remote you made to play the movie at home made this blockbuster movie a huge success.
On behalf of Jan and the entire cast of The Polka King movie, I ask that you celebrate this significant anniversary event by telling your co-workers, family and friends to watch The Polka King on Netflix. You’ll be happy, and that’s what we all want during these extraordinary times – HAPPINESS!

Hello and sorry for such a long time in between posts. So much happening with the King. Besides teaching piano here in West Palm Beach he has been busy with The Polka King on Broadway, another documentary, interviews and another movie in the mix. All on hold because of the pandemic of course. Stay tuned and we will be uploading the Polka King on Broadway. soon!
