Seekers within the Shaolin Tradition recognize the unity of all people, of life, of the universe, and attempt total realization of the aspects of Truth for themselves. Throughout the history of this tradition it has acknowledged and used methods of achieving these goals from any effective source. It was and is the norm for its seekers to participate in the activities of one or several other traditions. It has been said that a seeker in this tradition "may adhere to all, yet be bound by none". This occurred in the creation of the tradition. Our mission is to continue Bodhidarma's purpose to provide activities and methods that people of the world can use to develop physically, mentally and spiritually; raising the quality of life and in the hope of helping to one day achieve world peace and harmony. Activities and methods of holistic growth provided by the Shaolin Temple include: training in meditation, kung fu, Ta'i Chi, yoga, chi kung, herbology and nutrient supplement education, monk and clergy training. The Shaolin Temple can also provide spiritual counseling and wedding, baptism, and purification ceremonies.
