Africa is a cruel, harsh continent where only the fittest and strongest survive. Buffalo, it seems, take all that Africa throws at them to the extreme. Any bull which make it to Dugga boy age is a truly remarkable creature, and worthy of being regarded as a trophy specimen regardless of its horn size. The record book and inches are not important when comes to Buffalo, age and character are. The real challenge to securing a good buffalo trophy lies in finding that special old bull and hunting him well.

Dense woodland and thickets are where you’ll find the nyala. They prefer habitats in which they can take cover from danger. There is a good chance you’ll find them near water. As with most plains game, nyala will graze during the cool hours of the day, mainly early morning and late afternoon. When hunting Nyala you will be successful if you use techniques that are similar to hunting kudu. Nyala are known to become curious about who is pursuing them, a mistake on their part which may give you an opportunity. Males have yellow socks, a white mane and hanging body hair while the female has an orange/brown coat with white stripes on the flanks.

Congratulations to on this massive Cape Buffalo Bull. Chris and his PH Johan hunted this bull for four long days with no success. On the fifth morning they found the bull once again and this time the wind was in their favor. With one well placed shot on the shoulder the bull didn’t go far. Great job guys!!!
