💦 Yesterday marked the end of one of my family's favorite rides at Walt Disney World. While we will miss Splash Mountain so much and all of the memories and nostalgia associated with it, life is all about changing and I'm so excited to see the exciting changes coming and to welcome Tiana! The view from the top of this ride is one of my favorite views. You'll see in this video from our last time at our favorite "laughin' place"❤️

Sometimes (often) I get asked why Disney? Why does your family vacation at Disney so often? Isn't it redundant or...boring even?

Well, you see, even though we are going to the same end destination, the journey there is ever changing.

It started with my oldest son. He was still an only child and I was pregnant with his brother. His first trip as a 3 year old was pure magic and his love for The Mouse began.

This same son is now 16 years old. Every trip to Disney our family has taken, he has been there. But each trip he's been a different person in a sense. The little 3 year old, big-eyed and full of wonder and amazement. One year around 5 or 6 he swore he was a real life pirate from Pirate's of the Caribbean. Another year he became infatuated with Stitch and even insisted to speak like him for a time (🤦‍♀️). He went through an obsession with the "troll ride" (Maelstrom) and was devastated when the closed it to open Frozen Ever After. Around 9 he refused to eat anything there that wasn't chicken nuggets. There was a year we took him as a squeaky voiced boy and the next year he returned as a deep-voiced teenager. As he's gotten older, his tastes have matured. Now he loves all things Star Wars, thrill related, and a good Disney steak and salad. You see-each year he's been there, but each year he's changed and evolved.

And it's been the same with each one of my children. Each one has changed year after year. Their height, hair, clothes, likes, dislikes, ages, and personalities.

In a world that's ever changing, Disney is our "go to" as a family. So while it may seem like the same vacation year after year to you...to me, it's quite the opposite. It's a new experience every. single. time. with these beautiful humans I'm lucky enough to watch grow up before my eyes.

So for me, the answer to "why Disney?" is this. It's the memories. The seeing it through new ages and eyes each and every year. Disney has given our family a million memories and I'm ready for a million more.
